Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has initiated moves for the commencement of the Paga Central Mosque expansion project in the Upper East Region.

Prince Kamal Gumah, Deputy Youth Organizer of the ruling New Patriotic Party(NPP) USA, Hajj Yunusah Osman Technical Advisor to the Vice President and Mohammed Gargo Constituency Chairman of the NPP were in Paga Constituency to represent the Vice President’s office to cut the sod for the Mosque expansion project on 16th June 2020.

His Excellency the Vice president when he joined the Muslim Community in Paga to break the fast during the 2019 Ramadan, promised the residents that he’ll ensure the Paga Mosque is expanded to accommodate more people.

This was after the Chief Imam of the area made that request to the Vice President. He also requested Dr. Bawumia to help them secure land for Muslim Cemetery and water for the community.

The Vice President’s Office has fulfilled all the promises. Land for Muslim Cemetery has been bought and released to the Chief Imam, sod cutting for the Mosque has been done and work is ready to start while water has been sighted for drilling.
