The Progressive Youth of Kumawu has hailed the Omanhene of Kumawu, Barima Sarfo Tweneboa Kodua for the level of development he has brought to the area since he ascended the stool in October 2014.

The group described the Omanhene as development oriented and called for the support of all to enable him do more for the people in the area as his modest contribution to the development of the area.

In a statement issued in Kumasi and signed by Mr. Yaw Gyamfi Koduah, the chairman, the youth group said it had monitored the activities of the chief from day one and realized that he is focused to execute his development agenda.

A so-called Kumawuman Subjects Living Home and Abroad {KSLHA} recently claimed that there had not been any development at Kumawu since the demise of Barima Asumadu Sakyi II which the youth group has debunked saying living his words during his inauguration in December 2014 Barima Sarfo Tweneboa Kodua established the Kumawu Palace Museum as a tourist attraction with the support of the New York University in his quest to develop tourism by fully exploring tourist attractions in the area to generate funds to support development projects. The group indicated that they are informed that the Kumawu Traditional Council intends to establish the Kumawuman Educational Fund by the close of the year to support deserving students at all levels towards the general development of the area in fulfillment of the chief's vision to promote education.

It said currently, the Kumawuman Development and Investment Trust is being established by the Omanhene to attract investments and create jobs in the area to raise some funds as seed money for the proposed Education Fund.

They also pointed to Barima Sarfo Tweneboa Kodua's intention to address food security through improved agricultural practices and embark on an Afforestation programme to arrest the depletion of the forest area.

The group also pointed to the donation of anesthetic equipment to the new theatre at the Kumawu Poly Clinic as part of the chief's Health regeneration programme to enable the health facility.

Barima Sarfo Tweneboa Kodua who has since been gazetted in the National Register of Chiefs by the National House of Chiefs and initiated by the Ashanti Regional House of Chiefs as a member of the Judicial Committee of the House, has established the Customary Land Secretariat for the effective management of stool lands as a corrective measure to take care of land disputes and related issues.

Led by Barima Sarfo Tweneboa Kodua, the Kumawu Traditional Council has also taken over the running of the Kumawuman Football Club currently participating in the Third division to foster friendliness and unity among the people through sports, the group said.

"We are happy that very soon the Water and district hospital projects would be completed by the government at a time Barima Sarfo Tweneboa Kodua is leading his people for development," the progressive Youth leader said.
