The Marshallan Relief and Development Services (MAREDES) of the Knights and Ladies of Marshall, has donated relief items to National Disaster and Management Organisation (NADMO) in support of the June 3, flood victims in Accra.
The items worth GH? 12, 000 include bags of rice, gallons of cooking oil, tomato sauce, clothes and detergents.
Mr Edward Aloysius Prah, Board Chairman of MAREDES said the organisation is a Catholic friendly society founded in 1926 to expand charitable services to humanity.
He said the donation was in relation to its mission to take Christ to the World through charitable services and the vision to help create a community for the poor, distressed and needy in the society.
He said the donation builds upon its previous efforts to reach out to the needy in different respects and have supported more than 5,000 girls in deprived areas in mathematics education through ECOBANK and supported victims of conflicts in the Northern Region.
Mr Prah said the organisation has in the next years prioritise health service delivery and sanitation for its engagement due to the spate of cholera in the country.
Mr Gavivina Yao Tamakloe, Director, Relief and Reconstruction at NADMO thanked the organisation for the gesture and appeal to other organisations to help in support of the victims of the flood disaster.
