FEDERATION OF MUSLIM COUNCILS (FMC) COMMISERATES WITH WORLD MUSLIMS OVER DEATH OF PILGRIMS

The Federation of Muslim Councils has been saddened by the loss of lives of, and injury to, scores of pilgrims due to the crane collapse at the Grand Mosque in Makkah.

The FMC hereby expresses its condolence to the Custodian of the two Holy Mosques , His Majesty King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, the Ambassador of the Royal Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Ghana , the families of the deceased and Muslims over the world for the passing away of those illustrious servants of Allah .

To the injured, we wish them quick recovery.

Untimely incidents like these point to a critical need for an all-time high level of safety and protective measures, if not a temporarily halt of construction work, at the Haram (Holy Precincts) in view of the large number of people who converge there.

The FMC urges Muslims in Ghana to continue to pray, beseeching Allah’s mercy and forgiveness for the dead, and a speedy recovery for the injured.
