President John Dramani Mahama on Tuesday held a closed-door meeting with His Eminence, Peter Cardinal Appiah Turkson, who is also President of the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace at the Vatican.
Cardinal Appiah Turkson’s name has come up as one of the key people who could be elected as the next Pope.
The meeting took place at the Flagstaff House in Accra.
A former Archbishop of Cape Coast, Cardinal Turkson was appointed to his new position by Pope Benedict XVI on 24 October 2009.
Details of the meeting have not been made public but some have suggested it could have been about the possible election Cardinal Turkson as the next Pope of the Catholic Church.
