Tithing is robbing and stealing from God's people !

This is the second and hopefully the concluding part of our discussion on tithing. And let me begin by saying that this article is intended for those who want to know the truth according to the Bible, and are willing to search the Scriptures to see whether these things are so. Acts 17:10-11. In the first part, many were enlightened and some burdens were lifted off many shoulders that have been groaning under the yoke of this bondage brought into the church by greedy or ignorant preachers. Others were mad because their false doctrines and greed and love for money have been exposed. Others were simply ignorant and behaved like the proverbial ostrich that would rather hide its head in the sand than confront error. And some were very indignant, insulting and cursing instead of proving their position by the Scriptures.

As said in the previous post, I used to teach and preach tithing, and when I did, the people just got up and parted with their money. One time, at a church here in Atlanta, Georgia, a pastor friend complained bitterly about the low financial position of his church and invited me to come and speak on tithing, saying his congregation didn't like tithing, and that even weekly offerings were very low. I told him, " Well, it's going to be different on Sunday." Then he asked me, " How ? " I said, " You wait and see ! " As you can imagine, the offering was over and above by about 1000 % the next Sunday. Those who didn't have cash wrote cheques like crazy, and I was proud to coerce them to bring out their money, telling them how they've robbed God and denied themselves blessings, using the "curse" of Malachi 3:9, for good measure ! Finally, I exhorted and commanded them, " Bring all the tithes into the storehouse.....! " I could see the terror on some faces and a lady was literally shaking as she wrote her cheque !

Lord, be merciful to us and forgive us for our many transgressions, twisting Your Word, misapplying Scriptures and abusing Your congregation with our greed and love for money ! Thank You for Your mercy and for Your blood which cleanses us from all sin ! I have repented and cannot in all good conscience preach or teach tithing again, because it is not for the New Testament church ! After carefully studying the Scriptures, I realized that Malachi was talking about corrupt priests in the Old Testament and not the New Testament believers, but these Scriptures in Malachi 3:8-12, have been used for generations to "scam" the Lord's people into parting with their money. Certainly, there are preachers who have been speaking against this abuse of Scriptures and "scamming" the Lord's people, but they have been looked upon with disdain and scorn and venom, but it is better for us to be scorned by mortal men than to fall into the hands of the living God. Hebrews 10:31. " Woe to the pastors that destroy and scatter the sheep of My pasture, saith the Lord." Jeremiah 23:1.

AM I UNDER A CURSE IF I DON'T TITHE ?

No, my beloved, you're not cursed if you don't tithe, and neither are you blessed if you do; God does not need your money in order to bless you ! Abraham was already blessed by God before he ever thought of giving tithes, and so don't let any sakawa prophet, pastor, apostle, bishop, archbishop, or whoever intimidate you by twisting Scriptures to steal your money. The believer should give cheerfully, out of love for the Lord and His work, and not be pressured or threatened or cursed into giving. Our giving could be 10%, 100%, 1000%, 1% or zero %. according to our ability ! The Lord is more interested in our motivation than in the amount we give. Do you remember the widow's mite ? Luke 21:1-4.

What is your motivation for giving money or property to the church ? Is it so that you could be elevated in the church by your pastor ? Is it so that people would know that you are the highest giver in the church ? Is it to support the Lord's work or do you want favours from your pastor or prophet or whatever they call themselves ? Are you under a guilty conscience and do you think giving money to the church would ease the pain ? Did you rob or steal or commit adultery or fornication and expect the pastor to take your money and pray for you ? Remember, the Lord says, " I hate robbery for burnt offering." Isaiah 61:8. He does not delight in "stinking" or blood money ! Alas, many preachers are so greedy for money that they don't even care how you got the money, and would put curses on you instead of blessings.

DID JESUS TEACH ABOUT TITHING ?

Yes, in Matthew 23:23, He acknowledged that tithing was an obligation under the Old Covenant, but even so He taught the Pharisees to show mercy and kindness and faith. Besides, the Old Covenant was still in effect, and Jesus spoke to them as under the Law. The New Covenant was only ratified after His blood was shed on the cross. Jesus did not collect tithes from anyone, though He came to die for all mankind, therefore don't allow any greedy or ignorant pastor, prophet, apostle, bishop or archbishop to bamboozle you into paying tithes.

WARNING TO FALSE PROPHETS AND PASTORS

All over Ghana, churches are springing up everywhere like mushrooms and this is a good thing only if the motivation is right. But the truth is many are in the ministry not because the Lord has called them, but because they want to make easy money from gullible people who don't know the Bible. They love your money more than they love your soul. They are in it for the money; it's all about the money. God has not sent many of them yet they run, giving false prophesies and vain promises to helpless people. Jeremiah 23:21; Ezekiel 13:1-23. The Lord will deliver His people out of their hands, but the people need to be wise, and stop giving their money to greedy wolves in sheep's clothing. These false pastors and prophets need to start their own businesses to make their money, and stop fleecing the people in the name of the Lord for judgment is coming and has come !

BLESSED OR CURSED ?

Finally, if anyone feels they are being blessed for giving tithes, good for them, and they can continue to do so if they like. But if you feel you're under a curse, I can assure you that it is not because you don't pay tithes, but it could be something else. The Lord Jesus became a curse for us so that the blessings of Abraham shall be our portion. Galatians 3:13-14. If there is any sin in your life, confess it before the Lord and ask for forgiveness. Change your ways and do what is pleasing to the Lord and let His blessings follow you.

According to the Mosaic Law, the tithe was for the widows, orphans, strangers and poor in society. The Levites, who could not own property and had no means of making a living in ancient Israel were also given tithes to survive. Tithes was God’s way of taking care of the poor and needy in society.

The purpose of tithes was to make this world a fairer place to live. Food in God’s house meant the poor would be taken care of. God is a spirit and does not need food. Food in his house was for the poor. Deuteronomy 26:12 makes this point very clear:When you have finished paying all the tithe of your increase in the third year, the year of tithing, then you shall give it to the Levite, to the stranger to the orphan, and to the widow, that they may eat in your towns and be satisfied.

I do not know about validity of percentages but i know that church goers make use of water and electricity at the church premises. Also the compound is kept clean. stationery is bought and pastors are paid. I think these monies help to offset these bills. have you thought of why a citizen works hard to earn money and is required to pay tax ?

Tithing was when Israel was a theocracy and social functions were performed by the anointed men/women of God. Today we have presidential government. So tithing is not compulsory.

We don't need you to tell us to observe the payment of tithe as Christians, in fact, we don't even need you tell us that we should pay the tithe as a token of gratitude to God. What you tell demonstrate is whether there are biblical consequences for not paying 10% of my earnings to a pastor. Is my salvation in jeopardy if I don't pay the tithe?
Worse of all you seem to excuse and even justify the lavish and obscene lifestyles of pastors that are funded by the tithes of poor church members. Is that biblical? If Christ returned today, would he sanction a pastor driving a Rolls Royce while his congregants eke out a miserable existence. Don't you think that Christ would have asked such a pastor to sell his rolls and use the money to feed homeless people? If Christ would not sanction such extravagant fleshly comforts of a pastor, why do you think that my tithe should fund such a lifestyle?
Kwesi, you're rather enabling con artists to rob innocent men and women, most of whom cannot afford to give away 10% of their income without depriving themselves and their families.
I hope you soon begin to adopt a rational approach to faith rather than the dogmatic brainwashing sermon you've just preached.

22 Be sure to set aside a tenth of all that your fields produce each year. 23 Eat the tithe of your grain, new wine and olive oil, and the firstborn of your herds and flocks in the presence of the Lord your God at the place he will choose as a dwelling for his Name, so that you may learn to revere the Lord your God always.

24 But if that place is too distant and you have been blessed by the Lord your God and cannot carry your tithe (because the place where the Lord will choose to put his Name is so far away), 25 then exchange your tithe for silver, and take the silver with you and go to the place the Lord your God will choose.

26 Use the silver to buy whatever you like: cattle, sheep, wine or other fermented drink, or anything you wish. Then you and your household shall eat there in the presence of the Lord your God and rejoice. 27 And do not neglect the Levites living in your towns, for they have no allotment or inheritance of their own.

In general it is not true that pastors use the tithe for flashy cars etc.Some churches rent auditorium,chairs,equipment etc,there are pastors and other admin staff to be paid,Tv/Radio progs etc.There may be few pastors who will chop the tithe and their churches will not last.
If you cant pay ten percent of your earnings to your church then you are greedy and selfish and you dont deserve anything(God created everything.

well, thank God I have seen the light now and I am a liberated Christian now. I don't fall for these nonsense any longer and I pray and hope that a lot more people will also see the light and put their destiny and salvation into their own hands and not some pastor or prophet or so called man of God.

You must tread very cautiously when writing about things of God. You risk being blasphemous, which is very dangerous!Christianity is a personal relationship with God through His Son Jesus Christ. I don't think anyone, has the authority to prescribe to Christians how they must serve and relate with their Saviour. Mr Tawiah, don't think you're wiser and smarter than Christians who have chosen to be obedient to God by bringing their tithes to the storehouse. If practising Christians refuse to obey God's command in tithing, how will the Church operate, how will the Gospel spread, how will widows, orphans and the needy be taken care of? Do you know how i pay my tithes? I use 10% of my time and money developing the needy to get skills and jobs. Thats my belief and i respect yours too as we are not to add or remove. Tithe has different interpretations. to understand this, we need to understand the definition of christianity. Can somebody tell me where, Jesus said we should pay tithe? and if he did where did he say is 10%? I know he said for there is more blessing to give than to recieve

Where in the Bible did God ask for 10% of your income? Tell me where income was mentioned regarding tithes in the Bible?

Fishermen in the Bible did not pay tithes. Goldsmiths did not pay tithes, soldiers did not pay tithes. TITHE WAS NOT PAID FROM INCOME. ONLY TWO PROFESSIONS PAID TITHES-FARMERS AND ANIMAL HERDERS.

Where in the Bible did God ask tithe to be used for anything other than food? Tithe was never used for temple furniture. Tithe was food that was eaten in the presence of the Lord.

The purpose of tithe is not for electric bills or salaries. God had only one purpose for tithes-- to feed the poor Levites and the widows, orphans and strangers. Pastors are not Levites. There are dno Levites in the Church today.

Every intelligent person agrees that the resurrection of Jesus Christ was an established "belief system" among the primitive desert people of the ancient period and the dark ages.

The resurrection can never be an established "fact" simply because it does not, and can never satisfy the requirements of the rules of history. There is simply no historical evidence for the tall fabrication called the resurrection. Sure there is a 2,000-year "hear-say" or "belief system" for it. Read better historians.

Though the twelve apostles were men of God, they could not receive tithes because of their tribal lineage. How then can pastors today ask for tithes? Are they Levites? If the apostle Paul is not a Levite so could not take tithes why are some pastors taking tithes? The fact that one is a man of God does not qualify one to receive tithes. Even prophets and other men of God in the Bible, not from the tribe of Levi, could not benefit from tithes.

If you think what the true meaning of being a christian and the teachings of Christ, we would all be glad to pay our tithes but the issue is how the money is being used. If christians are paying their tithes and their PASTORS (emphasize on the pastors) are using some of the proceeds to help those who are needy, it glorifies God and give tithing a very good name. However, in this day and age its not the case but these pastors who are exploiting people should know that in the last days, judgment will begin in the house of God.

Jesus actually makes reference to this in one of the four gospels ..I believe this is in the gospel of Matthew or mark...Jesus s from the tribe of judah but his lineage can be traced to the Davidic line and I believe he also has lineage in other tribes as well but don't quote me on that.....so technically Jesus could have taken tithes if he wanted to...as in regards to the other disciples well...I am not sure if people turned in the tithes into money..but I do know tithes is given in the form of money and has been for quite some time now and

TB buys three airplanes before thinking about the next meal for a hungry Nigerian child. The Bible says "Love Thy Neighbor as Thyself". Too many pastors today use Bible threats such as "Touch not my anointed and do my prophet no harm" in an effort to silence critics who expose their wrong deeds and doings and non-Biblical teachings. Their claim is that the critics, in that manner, speak against "a man of God". There are many references which are quoted to back this claim - Psalm 105:15; 1 Chronicles 16:22; Matthew 20:25-28. Some of the instances raised as danger of dishonouring God's anointed people are: Noah and his sons (Genesis 9:20-27); Moses and Miriam (Numbers 12:1-15); David and Saul (1 Samuel 24:1-7); Elisha and the youth (2 Kings 2:23-24). In the same vein, we read in 1 Samuel 15 of Samuel criticizing Saul (who was anointed by God to lead Israel). David, a man after God's heart, was criticized by Nathan when he was wrong. In 2 Samuel 12, we read in part: Then Nathan said to David, "You are the man! Thus says the LORD God of Israel: 'I anointed you king over Israel, and I delivered you from the hand of Saul. I gave you your master's house and your master's wives into your keeping, and gave you the house of Israel and Judah. And if that had been too little, I also would have given you much more! The rise of preachers who demand themselves a position of dictatorship and lordship over the Church of God and who defend themselves by crying: "Touch not my anointed ...." is a relatively a recent development because the pastorate has been turned into a 'new career path' and not a call from God. If a pastor continually and continuously has to remind his congregation that he is the 'man of God)then either he is not the man for the congregation or he is doing something wrong. Definitely, there would be some tares in the Church who would always, without reasonable cause, criticize the pastor; but such people would be weeded out of the Church by God Himself or minimize their influence. If you are a pastor and have to face such people in the Church, let the dead bury their dead rather than try to revive corpses and the comatose back to life. If you have a man in the pulpit who leads by fear or guilt and cannot be cajoled to reality, then you need to treat him to empty pews and offertory. This message is the silent but powerful one. If the congregation is not together, such a man would lead all of them to hell because he himself is not a candidate for heaven. 1 Peter 4:12-19 is vivid on the rights of Christians and it is fearful if we fail to stand up and be counted: "Dear friends, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal that has come on you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice inasmuch as you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed. If you are insulted because of the name of Christ, you are blessed, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you. If you suffer, it should not be as a murderer or thief or any other kind of criminal, or even as a meddler. However, if you suffer as a Christian, do not be ashamed, but praise God that you bear that name. For it is time for judgment to begin with God’s household; and if it begins with us, what will the outcome be for those who do not obey the gospel of God? And, 'If it is hard for the righteous to be saved, what will become of the ungodly and the sinner?' So then, those who suffer according to God’s will should commit themselves to their faithful Creator and continue to do good." Some pastors think because they are ordained 'by the pouring out of an anointed oil on their heads', they are on a higher pedestal and more exalted level than their parishioners. By extension, they think because of that they are to be held to a lower level of standard of conduct. Such pastors posit that because they are preachers it is inevitable that they will offend people and will not try to avoid offences because if they did, they would have to stop preaching. But let us listen to what is written in 1 Timothy 4:12: "don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity." Does this support the assertion of some of these modern day pastors? In our flesh, including pastors, we all desire to dominate, desire to be pre-eminent. 3 John 9-10 says: "I wrote to the church, but Diotrephes, who loves to be first, will not welcome us. So when I come, I will call attention to what he is doing, spreading malicious nonsense about us. Not satisfied with that, he even refuses to welcome other believers. He also stops those who want to do so and puts them out of the church." Such pastors cannot bear to have their deeds and ways openly examined and compares with what the Word of God teaches. The dictatorial pastor expects his membership to devote themselves entirely to his service, going round on tiptoes for fear of offending him in any way, while he feels free to offend all and robs them of their liberty (Galatians 5:1). We should not be taken in by the pretensions of these fake preachers who allege that if any of their membership dare to criticize them for their offenses, the members are considered to have committed the unpardonable sin - they have touched the Lord's anointed. Let it be clear in our minds as Christians that we are all the anointed of God - priests and kings (1 Peter 2:9). All Christians (if you prefer born again Christians)are the Lord's anointed. In Old Testament times only some believers were priests, but in this age of grace, we are all priests. Of course, the reference in Psalm 105:15 relates to physical touch or violence and not verbal attach. Pastors are to "shepherd their flock to lie down in green pastures and lead them to the still waters" and must account to the Chief Shepherd. No woman should submit to an immoral relationship or strip naked to see if she is deemed worthy to be blessed because the 'pastor' says so and she must obey. No man should feel guilty because he is trying to support his family with their minimum needs; he has to work on a Wednesday night and cannot be at a prayer meeting (where apart from the tithes and offertory on Sunday, further collections are made). The pastor should not castigate that! Where there are failings on the part of the pastor - moral failings, wild prophetic speculation, accountability for tithes, false claims of receiving direct revelations from God, bizarre false teachings, unethical fund raising tactics, waste of Church's funds to purchase ostentatious luxury items - to these the congregation must stand up and drive him away from the Church or demonstrate with empty pews or empty offertory. We owe tremendous amount of courtesy to all of God's preachers (those who are called by the Lord and not those who called themselves or are called by men). We also have an obligation not to oppose or criticize them in an improper and un-scriptural manner. But they have the same obligation of courtesy to all Christian laymen, who are also the Lord's anointed.. Let us all return to the scriptural state of things in which all Christians are equal, having one Master, even Christ. "You were bought at a price; do not become slaves of human beings." (1 Corinthians 7:23).
Let us receive the blessings of the Lord: The Lord will send a blessing on your barns and on everything you put your hand to. The Lord your God will bless you in the land he is giving you.
The Lord will establish you as his holy people, as he promised you on oath, if you keep the commands of the Lord your God and walk in obedience to him. Then all the peoples on earth will see that you are called by the name of the Lord, and they will fear you. The Lord will grant you abundant prosperity—in the fruit of your womb, the young of your livestock and the crops of your ground—in the land he swore to your ancestors to give you. The Lord will open the heavens, the storehouse of his bounty, to send rain on your land in season and to bless all the work of your hands. You will lend to many nations but will borrow from none. The Lord will make you the head, not the tail. If you pay attention to the commands of the Lord your God that I give you this day and carefully follow them, you will always be at the top, never at the bottom. (Deuteronomy 28:8-13). AMEN!

"When thou has made an end of tithing all the tithes of thine increase the third year, which is the year of tithing, and hast given it unto the levites, the strangers, the fatherless, and the widow, that they may eat within the gates and be filled -----" Mr. Please Go back to the starting point of tithing and get forward to the practice of the apostles in Acts, and you will realise that some of the pastors have completely ignored the word of God for their selfish interest. They take from the poor and the widows and live opulent lives which is disgusting even before man. Tithe was to be taken to Jerusalem by the family for the family's sacrifices and comfort away from home. The third year's tithe was meant for the priest and the poor and the widows and the strangers. Study your Bible very well and you will understand that the Pastors have deviated and needs help. Tithing is good, infact very good, for the benefit of the down trodden but see what is happening today. The Pastor who are not even qualified to eat the tithes are now stealing from the poor for their families and devilish lifestyles. May God have mercy on all of us.

You seem to have written what unbelievers may consider credible and informative, yet your write-up simply suggests that you're naïve and about Christianity.

There may be wayward church leaders eg: pastor, bishops, arch-bishops cardinals etc. yet the Bible quotes that believers must beware not to fall prey to their dubious schemes (wolves in sheep skin pastors). The problem Mankind faces is fraud and deceit.

Jesus never in his life deceived or duped anyone. He went about teaching and spreading the news of salvation, feeding and healing the oppressed in life; he went about doing good, everywhere he went.

Please for the sake of your own salvation, don't attempt to blaspheme. If you don't believe in anything, just keep it to yourself, else you will be kicking against the wishes of the Creator of the Universe, in whom there is no bareness. Tithing and offerings is what keeps the Church going, yet Christians are not forced to participate, unlike how a nation or govt. could prosecute its citizens for tax evasion.

Leave out the subject of tithing and offerings in your arguments and open your ears and heart to the voice of the living God, and begin to experience his wonders. You could be a tither and an giver, yet if your heart is not pure (sinful and boastful) you still could miss out on the blessings of the Living God!

Life is not only about what man coul make on this earth. The scripture says that: "Heaven and Earth shall pass away" so don't be so obsessed with material stuff only. It goes on to say: "Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and its Righteousness and all things shall be added onto thee" thus says the Living God! May his Holy name be praised. Amen!

Humble yourself before the Creator and seek His wisdom and you shall receive His blessings. Amen! Do I sound stupid? I hope not.

What kills every society including the church is the failure to hold people accountable. Same as is killing the Ghanaian society because nobody questions corruption. You need to study about the early church in the book of Acts. Money brought to the church was used for the benefit of the people in such a way that no one lacks anything. It is uterly disgracefull to find Pastors leading an ostentatious lifestyle when there are memebers of the congregation suffering. We must pay our tithes however we must also hold our church leadership accountable on how it is used. As a christian, I am quiet disllusioned by christians in Ghana in situations where churches build great bulidings in places surrounded by slums and they do not see the need to uplift the slums. What you are saying is akin to just saying that pay your taxes to the government and shut up. This is what is killing our society.

The important thing for a Christian is to give in support of God's work responsibly. Responsible given also requires us to ensure the wise use of our gifts to God. I honestly believe that if I watched my family go hungry, naked, uneducated while an irresponsible person, namely a pastor, abused the gift I gave to God, I would be failing my duty as a Christian. We could not sit back and maintain that we have been obedient by paying tithes and the rest is up to the pastor. Surely, you would not sit back and watch your bank manager abuse your savings. My prayer is not whether we pay tithes or not but for us to pray that our responsible giving is responsibly used. If indeed God has given us all that we have, then your duty and mine, as Christians, is to care about how the money is used or spent. There is no point struggling for food and failing to care for your children or family if the pastor is behaving irresponsibly with the gift you have given to God through a particular church. If our giving is for God, then it is not for the pastor. S/he therefore has no right to use God’s gifts or gifts given to God on themselves. Give to God’s work but make sure you have a say in how it is used through your church meetings and asking for accountability. May the Lord through His Holy Spirit bless you and I with the gift of discernment to enable us to know how and where we should give our gifts in support of His work. God bless you and thank you for reading my thoughts on the subject.

Thanks for your comment. I think the end of the matter is knowing where to plant your seed with assurance that it would be used wisely to support God's work and not to perpetuate some lavish lifestyle.

Many times, Pastors quote this scripture, "For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." to condemn their followers that their hearts are not in God's business because they have failed to pay tithes to support God's work. And instead keeping their for their own work. What they forget to realize is what you have explained here. If they bring their monies to the church, then their hearts should be there at all times and have every right to know what the money was used for. They therefore can ask "what did you use my money for?"

Unfortunately, I bet almost all Pastors will throw you out of their churches if you dare ask such a question. However, that is what the Bible is saying and you have eloquently explained with superb example of keeping money at the bank. Or for example, giving money to support a "project" at home. None of us in diaspora will send money to support a project back home and refuse to find out how the money was used. If it comes back that, a brother or sister had misused the money, none of us will send money again to him for another project. You will look somewhere for help. It could even be a stranger who is willing to help you to set up your project. How then could we just continue to give money to support God's work through the same Pastor to support his lavish lifestyle and refuse to demand accountability.

Would God not require of us how well we used our "talents"- money- as he demanded of the servant that he gave "one" CEDI(talent)? I believe this is what he would say- "You wicked and slothful servant! You knew that I reap where I have not sown and gather where I scattered no seed? Then you ought to have invested my money with the bankers, and at my coming I should have received what was my own with interest."

JUST TO TELL US THAT WE NEED TO FIND A BETTER PASTOR WHO WILL USE OUR TALENTS (MONEY) WELL.

Mind you Mathew and Mark, Luke and John are still classified under the OT. hence in Luke, Jesus' parents sent doves and other animals to sacrifice as demanded by the Law. (Luke 2:22-24)

Remember that even when Abraham paid a tithe to Melchizedek(a King who had been defeated in battle and lost all his possessions) it was not just out of love for God but love for his neighbor as well. Melchizedek was not the only person who benefited from his generosity. Abraham gave back the loot that was his for defeating the invading armies. However he gave it all back to the people from whom it was taken after rescuing them.
The moral?
Abraham was helping the poor Melchizedek by giving him tithe not just giving a rich man more money.
Tithing as defined by Moses is for the Levite who has no land, the poor, the widow and the orphan as well as the foreigner(refugee) not for rich pastors who are buying jets and Rolls Royces. Look carefully, read the whole Bible and you will see that you must be very worried if your pastor or church lavishes tithes on Bentleys and palaces and jets rather than the poor, destitute, refugees and poor village preachers. God just does not bless you for wasting your tithe. That is what Malachi is about.Reading the Bible in verses is the easiest way to error.

I am a living testimony of tithe giving and seed sowing...I know how tithing has changed life and brought supernatural Provision in my life ....if you do not want t tithe please don't..but don't discourage others from tithing...tithing is mentioned in both the old and new testament...i am assuming that because arch bishop Duncan Williams is your spiritual father..or at least one of them since and you seem to know some principles in the bible...I am sure he must have mentioned the reason why we tithe and you must have some knowledge as well.....God says that he will rebuke the devourer on our behalf ..and iam sure you know who god is referring to..it also involves things which take away our money...I am a living testing of this ..now gods provision differs with every individual...but escaping a car accident by some miracle when you know you should have been in the accident and if you you did have an accident that would of cat you additional money that you do not have is an example of rebuking the devourer I you don not believe that the devourer is the devil..you money disappearing when it really shouldn't is a way of something being devoured...now I know that some people say don't blame the devil for everything..but trust me he is behind everything that is evil..even though sometimes we as human beings do things hat cause things to happen..the devil is usually behind the things that o wrong an trust m if you give him a a gateway he will use it....the devil as you know was an arch angel ..he was in gods presence .. He knew and still knows the principles of gods kingdom...he thought. Was so smart he tried to challenge god.. was created..don't quote me on this ...I was reading the bible and came to this conclusion...But I still have to ask the holy ghost for confirmation on this......any way god also says see if he will not open up the windows of heaven and pour you out a blessing that there shall not be room enough to receive it.... As a Christian there are something's that happen in your life that you know that it is only gods provision which has provided it...now in regards to the pastors living of the tithes...well in the old testament god said to bring the tithes to the storehouse ..which I believe is the modern day church .... I believe god also states in the bible o bring the tithes to the place that you are fed...that is where you are thought the word of god....god made the tithes provision for the priests ...money has to come from somewhere to take care of the costs of running the church...also is the money from the tithes really enough to support extravagant lifestyles...any way my personal opinion is this...god sees everything when it's time for him to judge he will...I am sure you know the story of the sons of Eli...pay your tithes and forget about it..or do not pay it but like I said do not discourage others from

I know someone who as a baby was confirmed dead and just as he was put in a coffin and prayers were said and as the coffin was about to be closed, this baby raised one hand and was removed from the coffin. This person is alive and is my good friend. I have heard his mother confirm this miracle. Our pastors have hidden so much from us. I started my research some 20 years ago, and what I found out is so shocking just one paragraph of my findings will have you wake up in shock! One quick question. How many of these pastors (including yours maybe)have you heard condemning the troubling gay issue? How many of them have poured their hearts out about the rising poverty staring us in the face? How many of them have proclaimed that a particular day's collection or tithe should be donated to the super poor in the church? Let me narrate an incident that took place in London. During the Rwanda civil war, a pastor (obroni)asked his congregation to make some serious donation to the distressed victims in Rwanda. The church led by this obroni pastor consulted a shipping agency and had a container (20ft) brought to the church premises so that any member could dump any unused or unwanted clothes, shoes, toys, canned food, and even money into the container. Now the exercise went on for about a month and the container got full and was sent to the shipping agency to be transported to a recipient agency in Kigali, the capital. When they came back from the port, the British pastor made an announcement that he would like to meet all his black or African members. He met them alright and expressed his disgust and shock at their behavior. The pastor asked them that is the container not going to Africa, and they said yes. The pastor made them understand that he noticed that not one African put a PIN in the container, and the blessing will go to all those whites who contributed. He also made them aware that it is not the church that benefits from the blessings and that it is individually obtained. The Africans felt so bad they bowed their heads in shame. Janet, will your pastor embark on such an exercise? Please ask him.
