They said in the abundance of water, it is only the fool who is tasty. Today's Christians unfortunately refused to read the bible and they have given some pastors and Rev. Ministers the opportunity to exploit them. Tithes was give to them in the old testament under the Jewish law or under Judaism. The Mal 3:10 always used as a license to take tithes from the people was not specifically addressed to Christians but to the levites who were appointment to take the the tithes from the people. Read from Mal 3, verse 1 down and you will know who they were referring to. The levites were not using the tithes for the intended purpose and denying the strangers, orphans and the widows you who qualify to have a share of the tithes. Heb. 7, verse 1 down states clearly that Christians don't pay tithes. Why do they take tithes from the people, meanwhile we not under the jewish law? THIEVES

Tithing is robbing and stealing from God's people !

This is the second and hopefully the concluding part of our discussion on tithing. And let me begin by saying that this article is intended for those who want to know the truth according to the Bible, and are willing to search the Scriptures to see whether these things are so. Acts 17:10-11. In the first part, many were enlightened and some burdens were lifted off many shoulders that have been groaning under the yoke of this bondage brought into the church by greedy or ignorant preachers. Others were mad because their false doctrines and greed and love for money have been exposed. Others were simply ignorant and behaved like the proverbial ostrich that would rather hide its head in the sand than confront error. And some were very indignant, insulting and cursing instead of proving their position by the Scriptures.

As said in the previous post, I used to teach and preach tithing, and when I did, the people just got up and parted with their money. One time, at a church here in Atlanta, Georgia, a pastor friend complained bitterly about the low financial position of his church and invited me to come and speak on tithing, saying his congregation didn't like tithing, and that even weekly offerings were very low. I told him, " Well, it's going to be different on Sunday." Then he asked me, " How ? " I said, " You wait and see ! " As you can imagine, the offering was over and above by about 1000 % the next Sunday. Those who didn't have cash wrote cheques like crazy, and I was proud to coerce them to bring out their money, telling them how they've robbed God and denied themselves blessings, using the "curse" of Malachi 3:9, for good measure ! Finally, I exhorted and commanded them, " Bring all the tithes into the storehouse.....! " I could see the terror on some faces and a lady was literally shaking as she wrote her cheque !

Lord, be merciful to us and forgive us for our many transgressions, twisting Your Word, misapplying Scriptures and abusing Your congregation with our greed and love for money ! Thank You for Your mercy and for Your blood which cleanses us from all sin ! I have repented and cannot in all good conscience preach or teach tithing again, because it is not for the New Testament church ! After carefully studying the Scriptures, I realized that Malachi was talking about corrupt priests in the Old Testament and not the New Testament believers, but these Scriptures in Malachi 3:8-12, have been used for generations to "scam" the Lord's people into parting with their money. Certainly, there are preachers who have been speaking against this abuse of Scriptures and "scamming" the Lord's people, but they have been looked upon with disdain and scorn and venom, but it is better for us to be scorned by mortal men than to fall into the hands of the living God. Hebrews 10:31. " Woe to the pastors that destroy and scatter the sheep of My pasture, saith the Lord." Jeremiah 23:1.

AM I UNDER A CURSE IF I DON'T TITHE ?

No, my beloved, you're not cursed if you don't tithe, and neither are you blessed if you do; God does not need your money in order to bless you ! Abraham was already blessed by God before he ever thought of giving tithes, and so don't let any sakawa prophet, pastor, apostle, bishop, archbishop, or whoever intimidate you by twisting Scriptures to steal your money. The believer should give cheerfully, out of love for the Lord and His work, and not be pressured or threatened or cursed into giving. Our giving could be 10%, 100%, 1000%, 1% or zero %. according to our ability ! The Lord is more interested in our motivation than in the amount we give. Do you remember the widow's mite ? Luke 21:1-4.

What is your motivation for giving money or property to the church ? Is it so that you could be elevated in the church by your pastor ? Is it so that people would know that you are the highest giver in the church ? Is it to support the Lord's work or do you want favours from your pastor or prophet or whatever they call themselves ? Are you under a guilty conscience and do you think giving money to the church would ease the pain ? Did you rob or steal or commit adultery or fornication and expect the pastor to take your money and pray for you ? Remember, the Lord says, " I hate robbery for burnt offering." Isaiah 61:8. He does not delight in "stinking" or blood money ! Alas, many preachers are so greedy for money that they don't even care how you got the money, and would put curses on you instead of blessings.

DID JESUS TEACH ABOUT TITHING ?

Yes, in Matthew 23:23, He acknowledged that tithing was an obligation under the Old Covenant, but even so He taught the Pharisees to show mercy and kindness and faith. Besides, the Old Covenant was still in effect, and Jesus spoke to them as under the Law. The New Covenant was only ratified after His blood was shed on the cross. Jesus did not collect tithes from anyone, though He came to die for all mankind, therefore don't allow any greedy or ignorant pastor, prophet, apostle, bishop or archbishop to bamboozle you into paying tithes.

WARNING TO FALSE PROPHETS AND PASTORS

All over Ghana, churches are springing up everywhere like mushrooms and this is a good thing only if the motivation is right. But the truth is many are in the ministry not because the Lord has called them, but because they want to make easy money from gullible people who don't know the Bible. They love your money more than they love your soul. They are in it for the money; it's all about the money. God has not sent many of them yet they run, giving false prophesies and vain promises to helpless people. Jeremiah 23:21; Ezekiel 13:1-23. The Lord will deliver His people out of their hands, but the people need to be wise, and stop giving their money to greedy wolves in sheep's clothing. These false pastors and prophets need to start their own businesses to make their money, and stop fleecing the people in the name of the Lord for judgment is coming and has come !

BLESSED OR CURSED ?

Finally, if anyone feels they are being blessed for giving tithes, good for them, and they can continue to do so if they like. But if you feel you're under a curse, I can assure you that it is not because you don't pay tithes, but it could be something else. The Lord Jesus became a curse for us so that the blessings of Abraham shall be our portion. Galatians 3:13-14. If there is any sin in your life, confess it before the Lord and ask for forgiveness. Change your ways and do what is pleasing to the Lord and let His blessings follow you.

My only beef is when they claim God only blesses Tithers who give only to the church as if those dont will otherwise remain poor till thy kingdom come. There are many examples of many people in the Western world who do not pay Tithes, aren't even Christians but who donate to many agencies that goes a long way to help many needy ppl around the world and the Lord blesses them.

Jesus even said praying to God always in public and appearing to be holier than all else, worshiping always whiles breaking most of the rules will never attract any Blessings. In words God will never bless an evil Tither.

There are many deeds that attracts the blessings of the Lord of which Tithes is one of those deeds. So pastors who dwell so much on Tithes as the only way of receiving God's blessings are only been manipulative to achieve their selfish aims.

And also the life of most modern day pastors contradict the life of Christ and his apostles. Christ and his apostles lived on donations and gave back to the poor after taking care of their needs. Its t4 so sad to see many Pastors building economic empires for their families using donations and Tithes of the poor in church while many poor Tithers struggle for daily survival. this was definitely not what Christ came to teach nor intended Christianity to be.

Most of Jesus Apostles died as simple men. Most modern day pastors are greedy. We cannot keep quite as the pastors hide behind touch not the anointed of God to perpetrate evil. Christ went to the Temple and whip the thieves, he never left them alone. Evil they say thrives when good ppl stand aside and do nothing.

Martin Luther rebled against the Roman Church to put and end to evil and this gave rise to the Protestant movement. So if the church needed another revolution to clean up the mess we see today, so be it.

Your financies will suffer if you steal from God. Bible says how can a man rob God? You can never has blessings if you rob God. All your money belongs to God. God asks for only 10% and you rob him?

God says give the tithe to the Levites (pastors). Bring the tithe to the storehouse (church) so he can bless you. If you want to give to the poor, you give to the church which in turn give to the poor.

Do not steal from God. Malachi says you have robbed God and God has cursed you. If you want God to bless you, pay your tithe. Only in tithe, did God say try him and see. God has never given this challenge. Your life would never be the same if you pay tithe. The blessing would flow. God never lies. He is faithful to those who obey him.

Well, I have seen pastors contribute their family fortunes and forfeit their salaries just to see the church grow.

SO WHAT TAWIAH? THAT IS WHY CHURCHES ARE NOT TAXED. THEY ARE NON-PROFIT, NOT BUSINESSES. THE APOSTLES SACRIFICED THEIR LIVES FOR NO MATERIAL PROFIT. JESUS HIMSELF LIVED SELFLESSLY AND GAVE HIS LIFE FOR THE CHURCH.

YOU JUST AGREED THAT THE CHURCH IS A BUSINESS TODAY. AS THE CHURCH INCREASES IN SIZE, PASTORS BANK ACCOUNT INCREASES. WE HAVE TO BE FORCED TO PAY 10% THROUGH MANIPULATION AND LIES.

Christian should concentrate on giving, where you can give even above 10%. Because you appreciate what God has done for you, keeping u and your family, church, nation, friends and even enemies safe. Paul was in prison but asked that every first week of the month the church brings it substance to be distributed to the poor and help spread the gospel with specific people being in charge.

you people are in the frontier and must be able to teach the "word' accordingly. If people should pay tithe is because they want the Kingdoms work to go on and money must be used wisely but remember if you don't pay tithe you wont be under any curse. what if I pay more than 10%, is it a curse or a blessing?

We should not leave in fear, Prophetess, If you read the ten Commandment you will realize that it is for our own benefit. Why is it that when you sin, you don't kill a bull to atone your sin - is it not in the bible. Read Mtt. 23:23 careful you will realize that Christ was not interested in the tithe, He was rather condemning the teachers for concentrating on it. If it something that attracts curse Christ himself will buttress on it. He considered it least because it is obligatory and act of faith.

Christians are to donate from what they have purposed in thier heart. It therefore makes it wrong for any Pastor or man of God to demand Tithe.

In the same vein God has blessed you in material and non-material things and request that you give Him a tenth and this has become a great obstacle,forgetting that you have nine to yourself, just as Adam and Eve forgot that they have the entire garden to themselves except one tree. hi Prophetess Ama....i respect your views and opinions and thanks for the good work you continue to do...However, i think you erred on this delicate subject and would entreat you to do more research to back your claims.....We can both sit down and read the whole of Malachi (not just Malachi 3:10) so we know what God's intention is for His people...i won't try and contextualize it but to give you a primer, Malachi 3:10 wasn't written for the members of the church but for the Levites who were not giving 10% of the 10% that was supposed to be for the orphans, widows, poor etc.....the Church is really leading people to hell with their monetary issues and i believe the church leaders need to stand up before the receive the curse from God....how can you make God an ATM machine where you pay your tithe and He blesses you.....it doesn't even make sense....Jesus never paid tithes and it was only because His work as carpenter didn't allow Him to pay tithes even though He was living under the ordinances of the Old covenant and therefore encouraged the payment of tithes by those who had to pay...we who live in the new covenant are instructed to give cheerfully, sacrificially and graciously...not under any compulsion cos gOD LOVES A CHEERFUL GIVER...PAUL NEVER EVEN TALKED ABOUT TITHE...the church is blinded cos we do not read the Bible for ourselves ...rather we love listening to pastors who are leading us to HELL......you can email me at oheneba@gmail.com if you wanna further deliberate on this issue

Personally, I think that religion is a private and personal matter for all. However when people tempt me to openly discuss issues of religion, I find it difficult to refuse the invitation.

How can you say this when all who have eyes to see and all who are imbued with and live in the true Spirit of God can visibly see that these tithes are generally misused for the aggrandizement of pastors and their criminal churches? For every GHC100.00 that they steal and extort from their vulnerable 'congregation' they expend GHC10.00 on social responsibilities, GHC20.00 on the church and the rest is pulverized into various activities which ultimately favour the Pastor and his clique only.

From the days when Europeans came here with their foul Christian religion and proceeded to desecrate our God-given local religions and culture on the untruthful pretext of evangelizing and getting us closer to God, we lost our respect and rights as human beings and we have since then, never known peace in this part of the world.

What happened next is known to all. We were enslaved and treated worse than animals. Then we were colonized - that is, we were again enslaved, but in our own country, then we were deprived of our culture in an insidious way which required that we even abandon our names and replace these with European names which were then mischievously and deceitfully referred to as Christian names.

In fact everything that God in His own wisdom created as African for His chosen African people, was vulgarized and made to seem evil, impure and bad by the vile propaganda of the brigands of Christianity.

Nothing much has changed since then. The only difference is that those evil people who forcibly imposed the alien and incompatible doctrines of Christianity on us with the sole aim of stealing our resources have now passed the baton over to their local collaborators to continue with the heist in their surreptitious ways.

If I am able to tithe 80% of my income towards God's Kingdom and living on 20%, imaging how blessed I am. My only beef is when they claim God only blesses Tithers who give only to the church as if those dont will otherwise remain poor till the kingdom come. There are many examples of many people in the Western world who do not pay any Tithes and aren't even Christians but who donate to many agencies that goes a long way to help many needy ppl around the world and the Lord blesses them.

Jesus even said praying to God always in public and appearing to be holier than all else, worshiping always whiles breaking most of the rules will never attract any Blessings. In words God will never bless an evil Tither.

There are many deeds that attracts the blessings of the Lord of which Tithes is one of those deeds. So pastors who dwell so much on Tithes as a way of receiving God's blessings are only been manipulative to achieve their selfish aims.

And also the life of most modern day pastors contradict the life of Christ and his apostles. Christ and his apostles lived on donations and gave back to the poor after taking care of their needs. Its t4 so sad to see many Pastors building economic empires for their families using donations and Tithes of the poor in church while many poor Tithers struggle for daily survival. this was definitely not what Christ came to teach nor intended Christianity to be.

Most of Jesus Apostles died as simple men. Most modern day pastors are greedy.

As a Christian, pray that you don't lose your job. Because the first thing your brother or sister or the Pastor will ask you is this, "Have you been paying your tithes?" Most Pastors and Christians have made God a "vending Machine," meaning- as long as I put money in the slot, automatically, I have to receive something. Which totally is wrong. They forget about the teaching of JOB.

It has been so much abused by modern day Christians that the books Gen to Malaki have been lambasted and noted as old and past. The books are only demarcated by temporal means that is why we have old testament and new testament but the actual testament is a covenant, the covenant Moses made leading Israelites who claimed that they would obey God and his commandments and Moses sprinkled blood of animals on them to seal that covenant, agreement. That testament is past and replaced by new and better testament sealed with the blood of perfect Jesus. Hence, those laws God gave to his people, most of them are still at work for his people today, not least of them is tithe. God is an organized God than what our modern so called spiritual believers make us believe, one man churches and leaders. God has remnant church on earth who obey his commandments and hold the faith of Jesus Christ (rev 14:12), who needs organized sources of funding like tithe to run God's business, not to lie to people to correct unholy money, and force ourselves to perform miracles so that we can get followers who will contribute money for the leader. Unfortunately, the tests you gave out bounced, you might have misunderstood them so reread them again, i will passionately suggest to you. Have a great week.

I attended a Pastor's birthday party with the pump and wastage and I heard one of those attending say 'in my next life I will be a Pastor'. Sadly many people have been manipulated to think that if they do not pay tight the devourer will descend on them. Now in the churches big men with questionable wealth are given the high tables because they can pay big tithes and be closer to the Pastor. But Jesus glorified the widow with her mite and not necessarily her tithe. Please your article is accepting that it is okay for christians to be manipulated and bring a 10th of their income to the church so the Pastor who started ridding a bicycle can now drive a Prado and live in a big house in trassaco where his family in the village still struggle to find a days meal and you want me to believe God is okay with that, are you kidding me. Now we have armed robbers and fornicators all preaching the gospel with insincerity and manipulating people to pay tithes to sponsor their lavish lifestyles. An American woman I know of sold her her house in the US to downsize to invest in people in Northern Ghana, where we are breading so many Pastors who drive Prado and you tell me that is justified. I think we are misrepresenting God and I believe with every fibre in my body that it is wrong, and I will continue to teach people not to be the objects of such deceit. God will bless those who still see benefit in visiting the prisoner, feeding the poor and helping the widow, not those paying tithes to support our 'celebrity Pastors' some of who are even becoming bigger than God.

My believe has always been that - your reaction to the things of God depends on your revelation about Him. It took a long time to be convinced to tithe and this is because I learnt that the spiritual controls the physical. As I farmer I waited patiently observing my crops grow and my poultry grow and concluded that despite all the hard work, there was more to success. I rely on God absolutely and therefore I give out of love to His work and it is up to the church to use it in propagating the Word. In addition I have learnt to give to the widow, needy and help the vulnerable so that God will be glorified because of me. I have become content and there is joy in my heart. I have learnt that God takes our motives and intentions into consideration and so will not do anything for show. Indeed Christianity is a lifestyle. God bless all readers.

The issue is whether tithe is only O.T. or not.The bible is not like any intellectual book that any intellectual can read and understand; the preaching of the cross is to them that perish,foolishness-1 cor 1:18.Abraham and Jacob realised that God had blessed them and they decided to give God tithe(ten%) of all their increase(gen14:18-20,gen28:20-22) then God made a covenant(O.T) with the children of israel and instituted the tithe(gen 27:30-32).They stopped paying nd God said they have robbed him.He advised them to pay so he will bless them nd if they refused the devourer(satan-1pet5:8) will come after them.Jesus advised his hearers to pay tithe.Read heb chp 7.It compares the priesthood of jesus and melchizedech.Melchizedech is the priest of God who received the tithe from Abraham.It goes on to say that Jesus is our high priest and even though here mortal men(pastors)receive the tithe jesus actually receives it in heaven(heb7:9).God created every thing and when we sinned HE purchased us with His blood.The bible says what do u hv that u did not receive.We are stewards of the things on this planet and the day we die what we call our own will cease to be so.God says honour Him with thy substance nd with the first fruits of all thine increase and u will be blessed(prov3:9,10)
Think about it a church needs an auditorium,instruments,furniture,office,workers,transport,outreach progs(TV,RADIO)etc.How can these things be taken care of
If u are in a church nd u have a problem paying 10% of ur income i can assure you one day u will be in trouble nd NO MAN will be able to help u.The tithe is not enough so u add offering too(check mal.3).
Many people spend their money on hard drugs,alcohol,extra-marital affairs etc nd some people dont complain but they think it is wrong for people to pay tithe.
My advise to you and all those insulting pastors is simple:repent,nd plead for forgiveness because God has given a command nd u r coaxing people to disobey

Too many pastors today use Bible threats such as "Touch not my anointed and do my prophet no harm" in an effort to silence critics who expose their wrong deeds and doings and non-Biblical teachings. Their claim is that the critics, in that manner, speak against "a man of God". There are many references which are quoted to back this claim - Psalm 105:15; 1 Chronicles 16:22; Matthew 20:25-28. Some of the instances raised as danger of dishonouring God's anointed people are: Noah and his sons (Genesis 9:20-27); Moses and Miriam (Numbers 12:1-15); David and Saul (1 Samuel 24:1-7); Elisha and the youth (2 Kings 2:23-24). In the same vein, we read in 1 Samuel 15 of Samuel criticizing Saul (who was anointed by God to lead Israel). David, a man after God's heart, was criticized by Nathan when he was wrong. In 2 Samuel 12, we read in part: Then Nathan said to David, "You are the man! Thus says the LORD God of Israel: 'I anointed you king over Israel, and I delivered you from the hand of Saul. I gave you your master's house and your master's wives into your keeping, and gave you the house of Israel and Judah. And if that had been too little, I also would have given you much more! Why have you despised the commandment of the LORD, to do evil in His sight? The rise of preachers who demand themselves a position of dictatorship and lordship over the Church of God and who defend themselves by crying: "Touch not my anointed ...." is a relatively a recent development because the pastorate has been turned into a 'new career path' and not a call from God. If a pastor continually and continuously has to remind his congregation that he is the 'man of God)then either he is not the man for the congregation or he is doing something wrong. Definitely, there would be some tares in the Church who would always, without reasonable cause, criticize the pastor; but such people would be weeded out of the Church by God Himself or minimize their influence. If you are a pastor and have to face such people in the Church, let the dead bury their dead rather than try to revive corpses and the comatose back to life. If you have a man in the pulpit who leads by fear or guilt and cannot be cajoled to reality, then you need to treat him to empty pews and offertory. This message is the silent but powerful one. If the congregation is not together, such a man would lead all of them to hell because he himself is not a candidate for heaven. 1 Peter 4:12-19 is vivid on the rights of Christians and it is fearful if we fail to stand up and be counted: "Dear friends, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal that has come on you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice inasmuch as you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed. If you are insulted because of the name of Christ, you are blessed, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you. If you suffer, it should not be as a murderer or thief or any other kind of criminal, or even as a meddler. However, if you suffer as a Christian, do not be ashamed, but praise God that you bear that name. For it is time for judgment to begin with God’s household; and if it begins with us, what will the outcome be for those who do not obey the gospel of God? And, 'If it is hard for the righteous to be saved, what will become of the ungodly and the sinner?' So then, those who suffer according to God’s will should commit themselves to their faithful Creator and continue to do good." Some pastors think because they are ordained 'by the pouring out of an anointed oil on their heads', they are on a higher pedestal and more exalted level than their parishioners. By extension, they think because of that they are to be held to a lower level of standard of conduct. Such pastors posit that because they are preachers it is inevitable that they will offend people and will not try to avoid offences because if they did, they would have to stop preaching. But let us listen to what is written in 1 Timothy 4:12: "don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity." Does this support the assertion of some of these modern day pastors? In our flesh, including pastors, we all desire to dominate, desire to be pre-eminent. 3 John 9-10 says: "I wrote to the church, but Diotrephes, who loves to be first, will not welcome us. So when I come, I will call attention to what he is doing, spreading malicious nonsense about us. Not satisfied with that, he even refuses to welcome other believers. He also stops those who want to do so and puts them out of the church." Such pastors cannot bear to have their deeds and ways openly examined and compares with what the Word of God teaches. The dictatorial pastor expects his membership to devote themselves entirely to his service, going round on tiptoes for fear of offending him in any way, while he feels free to offend all and robs them of their liberty (Galatians 5:1). We should not be taken in by the pretensions of these fake preachers who allege that if any of their membership dare to criticize them for their offenses, the members are considered to have committed the unpardonable sin - they have touched the Lord's anointed. Let it be clear in our minds as Christians that we are all the anointed of God - priests and kings (1 Peter 2:9). All Christians (if you prefer born again Christians)are the Lord's anointed. In Old Testament times only some believers were priests, but in this age of grace, we are all priests. Of course, the reference in Psalm 105:15 relates to physical touch or violence and not verbal attach. Pastors are to "shepherd their flock to lie down in green pastures and lead them to the still waters" and must account to the Chief Shepherd. No woman should submit to an immoral relationship or strip naked to see if she is deemed worthy to be blessed because the 'pastor' says so and she must obey. No man should feel guilty because he is trying to support his family with their minimum needs; he has to work on a Wednesday night and cannot be at a prayer meeting (where apart from the tithes and offertory on Sunday, further collections are made). The pastor should not castigate that! Where there are failings on the part of the pastor - moral failings, wild prophetic speculation, accountability for tithes, false claims of receiving direct revelations from God, bizarre false teachings, unethical fund raising tactics, waste of Church's funds to purchase ostentatious luxury items - to these the congregation must stand up and drive him away from the Church or demonstrate with empty pews or empty offertory. We owe tremendous amount of courtesy to all of God's preachers (those who are called by the Lord and not those who called themselves or are called by men). We also have an obligation not to oppose or criticize them in an improper and un-scriptural manner. But they have the same obligation of courtesy to all Christian laymen, who are also the Lord's anointed.. Let us all return to the scriptural state of things in which all Christians are equal, having one Master, even Christ. "You were bought at a price; do not become slaves of human beings." (1 Corinthians 7:23).
Let us receive the blessings of the Lord: The Lord will send a blessing on your barns and on everything you put your hand to. The Lord your God will bless you in the land he is giving you.
The Lord will establish you as his holy people, as he promised you on oath, if you keep the commands of the Lord your God and walk in obedience to him. Then all the peoples on earth will see that you are called by the name of the Lord, and they will fear you. The Lord will grant you abundant prosperity—in the fruit of your womb, the young of your livestock and the crops of your ground—in the land he swore to your ancestors to give you. The Lord will open the heavens, the storehouse of his bounty, to send rain on your land in season and to bless all the work of your hands. You will lend to many nations but will borrow from none. The Lord will make you the head, not the tail. If you pay attention to the commands of the Lord your God that I give you this day and carefully follow them, you will always be at the top, never at the bottom. (Deuteronomy 28:8-13). AMEN!

The writer is not saying its wrong to pay tithe either but i see tithe is a form of giving just to promote Gods work by helping the poor and preaching the Gospel to motivate people,encourage people and to build peoples faith. But what do we see, we see some pastors using the offerings and tithes lavishly and doing things contrary to what Jesus did.
People can give more than 10% tithe to a church if they feel the church is doing the real work of God but it should not be forced and made it look like thats the only way God blesses.
Always when we talk about giving we always concentrate on money and tithing alone but prayer is even giving because you are communicating to the father in heaven and in the end you expect some results,you can give your time to the service of Gods work and to me is giving,anything that you do to support Gods work is Giving,wether in monetary terms in service or sacrifice.
Jesus came to give himself for mankind and didnt come to give money but he sacrificed himself for us.Hardly do u hear preachers talking about giving in terms of service or sacrifice but always money. we know we need money to build the church and promote the kingdom but preachers should really teach the people the truth and don't always concentrate on money as the only form of giving.IF this thing persist it creates the impression you are using your mind and using a part of scripture to satisfy yourself even if its not so.
Tithing is a form of giving to support Gods work and it should be from your heart and its not the only form of Giving for God to bless.But i dont want to believe that if you don't pay your tithe preachers should make it look like you are going to hell.none is righteous but its God who shows mercy to mankind.
If you have money and want to support Gods work please do it and God will bless you. Teach people the truth in the bible and they will know and do the right thing.lack of knowledge my people perish. lets all pray that God guide us with his spirit and teach us the truth.God have mercy on us all.

Now to your question, the word Bible is drived from the greek biblio, which means book. This is why the quran refers to us as the people of the book. If you read the bible in greek(which is the original language of the new testament), you will have come across the inspired word of God refer to itself as BIBLIO.
Please also answer this question. Where in the quran was your religion named ISLAM, and who gave it its meaning? Where is the book the quran claims was given to Eessah and what is the name of that book?

The devil has created this lie that pastors chop the tithe so people shd not pay.In general it is used to run the church and i dont believe most pastors chop it.It is possible that a pastor will do that but God will deal with him and he may repent and pay back otherwise the church will collapse cos God will not answer their prayers.
If u r born again and you know that u r delivered from the power of darkness and made a child of God with all spiritual blessings etc,you will not question payment of tithe bcos 10% is even too small(jn3:3;colo 1:13;eph1:3).check prov11:24-if u dont give enough u will become poor.This is similar to mal 3:8,9-u r cursed cos u dont pay tithe nd offerings
