Yours is man's wisdom. Do not worry, you will get your followers God will get His followers. We know what God does for us when we simply obey Him.
I am not a pastor to directly gain anything from tithes but I promise you, when I tithe faithfully, the result is always overwhelming. This kind of teaching you are putting forward does not make you a non christian but rather an obstacle to some one's blessing. In any case, never rejoice over this for it is not good for you.

If what i preach is not in line with the Bible , then I am wrong. I am a teacher of the word, but I am not the word. Jesus is the word. I need rayers from my congregation just as i pray for them. I search the Bible for the truth like all.

This books is agianst what i bleive in but i will read it with an open heart. The truth of Christ is one and it is the Bible.

Pastors, over the years have budgeted
the tithe on their personal economic calender and woe betide those who fails to oblige. That is where the intimidation and the curses starts to reign.

The message is simple:
Tithing is not by force.
Instead, like many other organizations and societies, members could be asked to pay monthly dues for the running of the church.
Members who foolishly think God has singularly placed them higher,over and above their peers should voluntarily honour God that would in the end go to enrich these pastors.

Whichever way we look at it, religion has permeated the very fabric of our society, so much so, these pastors shall always be on top using the bible as a shield.

Unfathomably, God, like Jesus Christ
may have created this world as the bible has suggested. But, He died as soon as he completed creating it on the 7th day.

I guess am sounding blasphemous but that is what it appears to be. In that, why would God oversee children to suffer many untold diseases? How sinful are children?
Why are there discrepancies in human race?
Why are some countries better than others?
Why are there wars, albeit man against man?
God is absolutely mute because it does not exist.
Humans have perceived him as such from our own writings. Jesus could have written a book about the true nature of God but could not.
As we grew through civilization, varied perceptions got formulated and here we are.
"People die, People come" the world continues forever.
"Faith and Hope are the determinant factors. But how authentic?

Yes, tithe is in the Bible. So is the fact that animal and food sacrifices are in the Bible. Why have we so easy stopped offering animal and other sacrifices to God? Fact is, we have studied and found out in the Bible that Jesus died for the propitiation of our sins and His blood is a new covenant. Therefore, we no longer offer sacrifices for our sins and such like.But why is it so difficult to accept the fact that tithing is no longer applicable in Chistian worship? The answer, I believe, lies in how hard the So-called revs, apostles, etc have tried to fleece us. No wonder, they tell us that tithes are for only the pastors! They therefore collect other forms of money to do the work of God! Please, let us seek for the true, and the truth will make us free. No matter how hard we try to justify the payment of tithe today, it will never change the word of God, as we have know of sin sacrifices.

Supporting the work of God on earth that leads to salvation should be the responsibilty of every Christian. Tithing is indeed in the bible yet let no man intimidate or coerce another to do so. What does going to Heaven depend on I dare ask? On thithes? - the poor would be left behind, On wealth ? the needy would not be admitted. But on What, the answers are , Faith, Love and Belief.

See, even if tithe was not in the Bible there would still be some form of taxation levied on Christians. Money is required to run an institution like the church. It is only people determine to destroy the work o God on this earth who would dedicate their time to write against the tithe.

Tithe is no different from the dues your professional association collects from you. But why do professional associations collect such moneys? It is run the association in such a way that it oversees and protects the interest of the profession. It is not written in any law it is just a common sense to do that. So is tithe. It is just common sense to pay if you are a true believer. I have never seen somebody becoming poorer in sense because they paid tithe. Rather it enriches you.

Most of us Ghanaians have been beneficiary of tithes. All the Anglican, Presby, Methodist and Catholic Schools that we used to attend were built by tithes paid by others. The people who paid those or their descendants tithes are not poorer now.

It amazes me how people dabbles in subjects they do not understand. Why would one write a book on the bible subject if they don't believe in the bible? Clearly this guy does not believe in the bible. He has set himself up that he does not like the idea of tithe now he wants to as many gullible believers as he could with him. It is a pity when I see people go on such fruitless journeys. Anti-religion is now becoming a fast way of making money, like the Dan Browns of this world.

It may sound trivial but what this guy is doing would have devastating consequence in some innocent lives. The church is an essential arm of society. It plays a role that no one else can play. If the church is weakened society weakens. Most Europeans countries are now struggling to deal with anti-social behaviour which has filled the vacuum left by the church. In Ghana we probably avoided civil war because of the strength of the influence of the church on our leaders. But for the church to survive we must respect its leaders. In every society some people are paid better than others. I do not see anything wrong if a lawyer or mathematician who is now a preacher is well paid even though such pay comes from the contribution from supposedly poor members. We adore poverty and that is why it is always with us. This entire hullabaloo about tithes is because some pastors in Ghana are perceived as living affluent lives. In most cases though, the source of their wealth is often not directly from tithes per se. Even if it is that is not a reason to campaign against tithe. The church needs money to finance its activities and also be able to plan for the future. That can only be done if there is an assurance of constant regular income from the congregation. Offering alone cannot do that, that is why God in his own wisdom established the tithe. The word tithe means exactly that; a tenth of your income.
So Bro Amartey, keep up the good work. You have joined a special group of people fighting hard to destroy as much of the church as they could. One thing is sure though, our God is the judge, he will judge you same as he will judge the pastors you are accusing. Who knows what that verdict would be? For me, I will continue to pay my tithe. Even if it is not biblical as you are arguing (I know it is), I know it is for a good cause. It is to support the church which is the last hope of peace, love, morality and uprightness in this corrupt world of ours.

In Matthew 23:23, Jesus only commended the hypocritical Pharisees to continue their tradition of tithing (which was under the law), but commanded us to do what is right, which is taking care of the needy, the poor, the widow and also giving as you have decided in your heart. I can see some so-called Pastors and Christians fighting Bro. Amartey's proven research, and that's because the truth has been exposed. Brother Amartey and the Bible is right. Tithing is the biggest scam in the churches, and the naïve and "unenlightened" are just ready to accept such traditions. Christianity is free will, and giving should be free will as well. Bro. Amartey and the Bible is not suggesting not to give at all. Rather, the bible suggests to give as you have decided in your hear, not under compulsion or force, for God loves a cheerful give.
