There will always be periods in church history when the church appears as if she will fall, but she never falls. The church may have serious faults, but she is the only agency God has to save the world.
Aren't you happy to be free to voice your opinion about the church? Do you think you would have been able to say what was on your mind against the most poplar church during the middle ages? The church was a terrorist at that time, and it brooked no dissent from friend or foe. She killed and robbed her victims with impunity. The fact this church has a subdued spirit tells us that God's grace is in progress in Ghana. Aren't you also happy that we do not have the Islamic State, Boko Haram, and Al Qaida operating in Ghana?

God surely knows those who belong to him.

"Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity." 1 Timothy 2:19.

The evangelicals that sprang up from the church of rome are blood thirsty, deceitful, war mongering and constantly flirts with the holocaust of the rest of the world. This certainly cannot be an improvement. They are also the anti Christ. Most people think the anti Christ is one person. But it isn't. It is a group of fake Christians mouthing of blasphemies and destroying Jesus' message of peace and love. Do not be fooled. These are not followers of Jesus but rather of Saul/Paul the vile anti Christ who changed his colours to persecute the followers of Christ from within. His followers are the modern day evangelicals who are diametrically opposite to that of Jesus.

Jesus died to save sinners the chief of whom Paul said he was.Yes Paul persecuted the church at a point in his life but he met Jesus Christ, just as so many people with very perverted characters are meeting him and are being saved.You may need to experience the saving Grace and mercy of God yourself to understand what happened to Saul/Paul.

When Jesus christ was conceived by the spirit of God, God the creator knew the need of a human father figure in his life. So the creator ordered a man called Joseph, who was supposed to be a fiancee to the mother Mary to stay with her in a dream.

It was against the traditions of the community for Joseph to take such position for a woman who is not wedded but pregnant. Joseph heeded to the voice of the Lord, no matter what was against him.My situation is similar but not the same.
Jesus Christ was saved from growing without father figure.

Have anyone noticed that last presidents of USA have no sons. Coincidently, they do not respect the name Jesus Christ and God has denied them sons for rejecting the Son of God almighty. Who is Jesus Christ.

Whilst I understand that religion is spiritual practice by the ordinary flesh and blood humans there are bound to be blames, but can we trade off the church's called by you terrorist past with current much evidence of robbery, homosexuality, etc. to say we are better up or down today?

The early disciples of Jesus who started the church led exemplary kingdom focused life taught by Christ himself which says 'love for God begins with love for thy neighbour', where is our love for our neighbour today? Just as Jesus did, Peter, James, Paul, and co stepped in the footsteps of the master by not only 'preaching' the gospel but 'sharing' the wealth of God with the people especially fellow believers. They economically redistribute God's material blessings to ensure equality in society wanting to kill greediness that breeds corruption. There is no miracle greater than care for needy, poor, fatherless, widows, strangers, remember....'when I was hungry you fed me, naked you clothed me,..... Jesus broke bred and fed the masses he did not 'send them away' on promises from God to take care of them or some divine miracle of overflow to encounter them on the way, at home or work.

All greediness and ills begins in church where we go to God for more other than share our little. As a Christian, the main issue I have is not with the word of God but with what after Jesus came certain leadership of the church who see God as tool to rule over mankind, tool for manipulation, slavery, robbing, etc. just as we continue to see currently.

Back to the main article, I quote 'Speaking to the DAILY HERITAGE in an interview on the 40th anniversary of the YAFCA, Rev. Owusu-Afriyie said many Men of God today have declined from teaching the rudiments of Christian doctrine and have rather taken to a stylish method of preaching to excite the congregation, as well as arousing their emotions' and also,
'The dynamic President said notable Christian leaders like Sam Kuranchie Ankrah, Eastwood Anaba, Mensah Otabil, and Agyin Asare received early training through the programmes organised by the youth movement'. Unfortunately, these leaders above being so-called notable Christian preachers mainly have taken 'stylish method of preaching to excite the congregation, as well as arousing their emotions' received training from YAFCA, so why Rev Dr John Owusu-Afriyie surprised by the product of his own making? Why has this dear reverend condemned the pots he moulded himself?

God's promise of Salvation by grace to Adam and Eve, and later to prophets, priests, and kings was not afterthought; but it was planned before the foundation of the earth-- "the Lamb of God slain from the foundation of the earth' (Revelation 13:8b).

When Christ sealed the Covenant of Grace with his blood, He ascertained that God's only way of Salvation is through Christ, THE MEDIATOR OF A BETTER COVENANT, as compared with the old covenant which could not save anyone.

"For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ." 1 Corinthians 3:11.

I usually wouldn't touch on religious subjects but I will be judged if I keep quite on this. Just this afternoon, my supplier came to my office and I tried persuading her to go to church. She indicated she always feels depressed in her room on Sundays be ause she used to be a regular church member but had to stop because of pressure the pastors put on their finances. Their pastor will call for one donation/ contribution or another. They will mention huge amounts and keep calling for people to stand in front as if it were an alter call. This puts them under a lot of pressure with comparisons sometimes made. Pastors tell them even younger ones are giving out of faith etc. the last time she was in church, they were made to pay for items for the pastor's wife. Charismatic churches started operating schools and unlike the orthodox churches, the fees are so high. Churches only do basic things like boreholes after collecting extra donations from members

In the days of the Apostles the purpose of church was to get believers together in order to be able to worship,study the word of God,check on the welfare and the where about of members due to the intense persecution of believers.

There was equality,common interest and communal way of life etc.What do we see today? pastors with huge billboards with a passport size photo of Jesus pasted at the corner. Continuous reminder of the importance of paying tithe and self aggrandizement.

It depends strongly on the 'yardstick' being used to measure the performance of Church vis a vis the areas one looks at in determine the purity and otherwise of the church.
May I humbly submit that from where I stand, The Church (Universal) is doing great and having tremendous move of the Holy Ghost.
Even in Ghana, it's erroneous to use Accra and Kumasi churches to conclude that the church is being corrupted. If we allow the the Holy Spirit to open your eyes and we put your ears on the ground we will be praising and worshiping God for His amazing move among humanity. Jesu us still building His Church and the gates of hell shall NOT prevail against HIS CHURCH. Hallelujah , Praise The Lord !!

I was at the Accra Holy Ghost Cathedrale during a visit to Ghana and I saw how the Holy Spirit was filled with the people. God is always with His Church. Iwent to Bechem ,(where I was born)and to my surpise the Catholic church where my mother being Methodist but will always make sure that I went to the Catholic Church was filled -up .

Christendom is the Babylon the great city that John described about in Revelation (Revelation chapters 17 and 18). What do we see today in most churches in the world? - False prophets, adulators, idolaters, scammers, involving themselves in politics by fighting among themselves for higher positions. They do not share the good news of the impending kingdom of God to the ordinary people and making themselves arrogant and holier than thou attitudes. If you do share their views of the Christ teachings, then they treat you as a non-Christian or a cult. They should read Galatians chapter 5:18 - 23 and let’s see if they posses any of the fruit of the spirits outlined by Apostle Paul.
These are the false teachers of the holy book behaving the same way as the Pharisees during Christ era. (Revelation chapter 19:20-21)
And finally, I rest my message with the passage at revelation chapter 22: 10 - 21 -
10 And he said to me, “Do not seal up the words of the prophecy of this book, for the time is near. 11 “Let the one who does wrong, still do wrong; and the one who is filthy, still be filthy; and let the one who is righteous, still practice righteousness; and the one who is holy, still keep himself holy.”

In today's world when others are making it possible to be in a remote village in Ghana and speak to and see someone thousands of miles away, the blind are being made to see by wearing special glasses; we in Ghana and Africa are attempting to catch witches - most of whom are very wretched people with equally wretched existence in our so-called churches.
