The proposals put forward by IEA for constitutional reforms are the best possible ways of strengthening our democracy. Anybody criticizing or unwilling to accept them must have some myopic and self-serving agendas that are not in the interest of Ghana and its development. Our week institutions can easily produce "constitutional dictatorship" difficult to get rid of.
Those who have genuine alternative ideas and views regarding the issues raised should come out clean and tell us what they have, and not hide behind to sabotage their adoption. These proposals in our view would reduce partisan politics and also strengthen democracy and the rule of law in our country. On the other hand, if we dare reject them or drag our feet, we will continue to grope in darkness with disastrous consequences.

Christian churches teach that Jesus Christ is not only the son of God, but that he is the very God. The Father, The Son and the Holy spirit are one. That is to say Jesus is God, and God is Jesus.Paul said in 1 Corinthians 15:15 "We are even found to be misrepresenting God, because we testified of God that he raised Christ, whom he did not raise if it is true that the dead are not raised". In spite of Paul's belief that Christ is God, he could not but say "God raised Christ". If Jesus and God were one and the same then it would have been spoken by Paul as: Christ raised himself?If God raised Christ, the two could not possibly be the same being. One was definitely the performer and the other upon whom the operation was performed.
Also, on the mount of olives to which Jesus fled hunted by the Jews, he took occasion to withdraw from his disciples, and there in seclusion prayed to God: "Father, if thou art willing, remove this cup (death) from me;nevertheless not my will, but thine be done. "And there appeared to him an angel from heaven, strengthening him" Luke 22:42-43. We note here three important things:1.Jesus prays to God, Jesus worships God. Hence they are two separate beings of unequal status to the extent that one has to pray to the other. 2.They have two separate wills, but the will of Jesus, is subordinate to that God. God's will must prevail. 3.Jesus, being man, loses heart and weakens, and God Almighty, as the source of all strength, sends an angel to strengthen Jesus.
In the gospel of John 14:28 "For the Father is greater than I" and finally in Mathew 27:46 while Jesus was on the cross (allegedly) says "And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, 'ELI,ELI, LA MA SABACH-THANI (a hebrew quotation which means 'My God, My God, why has hast thou forsaken me)." From this verse it is clear that Jesus and God are not only separate entities but their will are different and could even be contradictory; the superior will must however prevail. What is shocking however is the despairing tone of Christ's supplication on the cross. Far from being the only begotten son of God or God, we could not expect such weakness even from an ordinary mortal with a trust in God. Why was Jesus complaining when he suppose to die willingly for the sin of mankind. An indication that somebody else was on the cross and had to complain to God as the Qur'an says "And because of their (Jews)saying (in boast) we killed Messiah Isaa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary), the messenger of Allah, but they killed him not, nor crucified him, but the resemblance of Isaa (Jesus)was put on another man (and they killed that man), and those who differ therein are full of doubts. they have no certain knowledge, they follow nothing but conjecture. For surely; they killed him (Jesus)not. But Allah raised him (Jesus)up (with his body and soul)unto Himself in the heaven. And Allah is ever All-powerful, All-Wise" Q4:157-158.

Islam condemns what the ISIS group is doing. Islam abhors that. This group uses Islam as a cover to prosecute their political agenda. All the Muslim world have come out to condemn their actions and that is why they join other nations in their fight against this satanic group that is out to destroy Islam and to make Islam unattractive not only to non-Muslims but to Muslims as well.
Islam implies peace between oneself and other human beings. The holy prophet said “None of you can be a true believer until you love for your brother what you love for yourself” (Bukhari).
Again “none of you can be a true believer until you love for your neighbor what you love for yourself” (Muslim).
Neighborhood is described as people living within 40 houses from your house to the South, 40 houses to the North, 40 houses to the East and 40 houses to the West. When any one in those houses is hungry you have the duty to feed him, is sick, you have the duty to visit him, share with them in happiness and in sorrow.
A true believer cannot at the same time hate his own brothers and neighbors, cannot kill persons and burn houses in the name of religion, chieftaincy and political parties. The holy prophet said; “To insult a neighbor is irresponsible and to kill him/her is a rebellion against Islamic faith (an act of disbelieve)”. Allah said in the Qur’an; “And whoever kills a soul (Muslim or non-Muslim), unless it be for murder or spreading corruption in the land, it is as though he has killed the whole humanity, and whoever saves a soul, it is as though he saved all humanity”. (Q 5:32).
By this Islam stresses the sanctity of human life. Islam abhors violence, acrimony and rancor and therefore, a true believer cannot be violent in the name of God or a political party. When you are at peace with your brothers and neighbours then you are on the path of submission to the will of Allah (Islam).
The Qur’an further instructs us in relation to those who are non-Muslims to be fair and just in our dealings with them, and said in Qur’an 60: 8 “Allah does not prevent you, in relation to those who are not fighting against you and who are not driving you out of your homes on account of your faith, to be kind and just in your dealings with them; for Allah loves those who are just.”. A true Muslim does not attack non- Muslims simply because they are non-Muslims. Rather he fights in self- defense and in defense of his faith.
ISLAM AND WARFARE
Allah said in Qur’an 2:190 “take arms only against those who take arms against you”
“And if they withdraw from fighting and extend peace to you, Allah denies you any access to further engage in fighting.”(Q 4:90).
“And if they (the enemies) extend their arms to you for peace you must also respond by extending your arms to them in peace” (Q 8:61).
This is where the Americans and their allies as well as this satanic group, stand to learn from Islam. No nation or people have the right to attack another military to forcefully impose their own brand of democracy abroad. the understanding of these issues must lead to global inter-cultural and inter-religious dialogue; dialogue for global peace and harmony.
PEACE WITH THE ENVIRONMENT
A Muslim must be at peace with the environment. God has purpose for every created thing without exception and man must live in harmony with creation. Causing destruction to plants and animal life, the water bodies, the air and other elements of the planet is unislamic, inhuman and self destruction.
In sum, Islam and of course true Islam is about peace with oneself, peace with Allah and the fellow human beings. In a general sense therefore, Muslims must preach and behave peace at all times whatever action a Muslim takes must be guided by Islamic moral code especially those that relates to duties and responsibilities of citizens in general.
