Kano (Nigeria) (AFP) - Boko Haram Islamists slit the throats of 10 fishermen in villages near Baga on the shores of the Lake Chad in northeastern Nigeria, a leading fisherman and a resident said Thursday.

"On Monday around 4 pm (1500 GMT), Boko Haram attacked three villages on the shores of Lake Chad where they slaughtered 10 people, all of them fishermen," Abubakar Gamandi, head of the fishermen's union in Borno State, told AFP.

The account was confirmed by a local fisherman, Buhari Dan-Malam, who lives in Doron Baga.

"The Boko Haram gunmen came around 4:00 pm and they attacked three villages (that are five kilometres/three miles from Doron Baga). They slit the throats of 10 people," he said.

The villages attacked on Monday were Bundaram, where they killed four people, Fishdam, where they killed two people, and Kwatar Mali, where they killed four people," Gamandi said.

"Boko Haram decided not to use guns so as not to attract the attention of soldiers from Baga. This is why they used knives to slaughter their victims," he said.

The fishing villages around Baga were abandoned in January after some of the most deadly attacks by the Islamist sect.

But "in the last month, residents in the Baga area displaced by the Boko Haram takeover of the area in January have been returning to some villages secured by the military to continue their fishing business," Gamandi said.

"They take their catch back to Maiduguri (the state capital) to sell and make a living because living in the IDP (internally displaced people) camps has become difficult due to lack of food."

The army had authorised the displaced people to go back to fish in the villages, he added.

The jihadists had attempted to enter Doron Baga on Monday but villagers "mobilised and began booing them. And that helped in keeping them away," Dan-Malam said.

"Because of our daring act we let them believe soldiers were in the village. They then went and camped in Dawashi, another village. To avoid being attacked, we went to Maiduguri," he said.

But they later returned "because fishing is all we know. Now there is fish in the lake which had been left untapped since January," he said.

Last week, nine water melon growers were also killed in Dabar Wiya where they had returned to harvest their produce, said Gamandi who did not provide further details.

The hundreds of islets separated by channels hidden by tall grass in the Lake Chad region provides cover for the militants to steal livestock and food from local inhabitants.

The jihadists, now affiliated with the Islamic State group, have been using the islands as a rear base after being routed from their traditional strongholds in Nigeria by a four-country military offensive against them.

The Chadian army has launched a "major operation" to flush out Boko Haram jihadists from Lake Chad, sparking violent clashes on Monday between soldiers and the group.

Chadian forces have "around 1,000 men positioned to occupy all the islands and neutralise Boko Haram," a security official told AFP.

It is Muslims that are relocating those countries. It is not that people in those countries are joing occultic Islam. Muslims are running away from their home countries to Christian west, where there is peace, respect and dignity for human life.

Have you seen the trend of migration from Islamic countries to western countries? Muslims are just relocating. And you go there to deposit your deadly Islamic religion in those peaceful countries you love so much to live in, but want to destroy them.

Know that the west is compassionate. Why are Muslims who have been displaced in war torn areas in Middle East not moving to Kuwait, Saudi Arabia or any of the Islamic countries that have realatively peace? The answer is that, compassion is not in Islam.

What they would fail to teach these innocent victims is the violent nature of this wicked man who heard the voice of demons which he acknowledged himself but went on to deceived 1.3billion people. They would fail to teach them this false prophet started his criminal activity by raiding merchant caravans and stealing their goods. They would not teach them that the false prophet was a psychopath who murdered innocent people by slitting their throats and raping women they ceased in war. Let us remember that our brothers the Muslims fall into the same situation. But let's love them any way, while praying for God Himself to save them through His Holy Son. There are certain things that can only be changed through prayers. Not through argument. No argument could have changed Apostle Paul himself.
Muslims can't understand Christianity because they think Christianity, like Islam is a simple question of membership and number and defending a Muhammad physically and killing people for his name's sake; they think it's a question of protecting a Muhammad like the endangered species he is.
Christianity is a personal quest for God in truth through His Son who has been given to us in a certified, truthfully spiritual, holy way for our salvation - being the only way to the Father.
Christians, for that reason, are extremely independent of fellow men, but solely dependent on Christ and guided by His commands, working out our "salvation with fear and trembling."
So if a person leaves a church and joins a mosque, such a person didn't understand what he was doing in the church, in the first place.For a Christian does not take his inspiration from a pastor but from Christ. The serious Christian has a right to confront a pastor who thinks how one appears in church doesn't matter. And a serious Christian can look for a better church, one that does not belong to the pastor but to God. For Christians have been enjoined to "Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and hearers" (1Tim. 4:16). You see, our Scripture says "you will save..." So it's paying attention all the way. Consequently, every Christian should be individually assessing whether the other Christian, including the pastor, is doing right. Christians are encouraged to question and not to take anything for granted. Even the Scriptures, to examine them. It says: "Test every spirit to know whether it is of God." - Even spirits must be tested. That's the way to reach the truth. And Christianity has not been afraid to be tested.
That explains why you cannot easily have herd influence on Christians such as ever to raise twenty men readily to go and commit a 9/11 as happened in the US. Such as easily to raise people, thousands of them, to fight as boko harams. Such as raising thousands to fight for Isis even to the distress of other Islamic states. Such as raising people, including poor women and children for suicide bombing. Such as people killing others for questioning the religious legacy of Muhammad. In Christianity, nobody is justified before God and His Christ to kill another in defense of any name under the sky. Not even in defense of God Himself; nor in defense of His Son. Why? Because Christians know from the living, historical account in the holy Scriptures, that the LIVING God and His LIVING Son are able to take care of themselves - because they are living. Islam gags everyone. No question. No talk. And yet when they are running away from their consequent endless wars, they run towards non-Muslim countries only to impose their gag orders there as soon as they are settled. Strangely they don't seem to want to go to other rich Islamic states. Even the host Islamic states fear the incomimg Muslims. Someone said they do not go to other Islamic countries as a way of trying to avoid their religious shadow without avoiding the religion which is the primary cause of the trouble: In fact, like the blind man, they may not be able to know the root cause of their trouble.
A convert from Islam said that as long as any Muslim is ready to defend Muhammad physically, that Muslim is a potential killer, that he didn't know of any serious Muslim who wouldn't do that, and that for him to get out of that unholy burden on behalf of an earthly being, he apostatized. His question was: Why should anyone kill for a person, while he won't kill for God Himself? A Muslim who was clearly telling lies swore, saying, Wallaahi Allah. When he was challenged to say Wallaahi Muhammad, he declined, for obvious reasons.
But the fact is: Most of them really want God, but they have taken a God at the first offer, without the ability examine. Satan is not easy to beat! That's why we must keep praying for them.
