Demonic possession has come to Adam's descendants as a result of sin, the transgression of God's law (1 John 3:4).
God's solution to the sin problem was Jesus Christ (John 3:16), the righteousness of God (Acts 17:31), who gives us freedom from the penalty of sin (hell fire); freedom from the power sin; and freedom from the very presence of sin in the the hereafter. Therefore the solution to demonic possession should not be sought in the laying of hands on the victim of demonic possession as the best option, but to lead the victim to Jesus, and also praying, and encourage the person to live the Christlike life.
So, then, a ministry entirely based on exorcism? Won't it be easier to follow the church's mandate in Matthew 28:19-20, "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever l have commanded you: and, lo, l am with you always, even unto the end of the world." Emotionalism and speaking in tongues such as we see among charismatics will not do. Obedience to God's law through faith in Christ is the start of God's restoration program in Christ's righteousness.
