20 named for Blackstars-Egypt clash

Ghana striker Asamoah Gyan has been lined-up for his first national team game in a year after being named in Milovan Rajevac's 20-man squad for next month's international friendly against Egypt.

TSG Hoffenheim's Isaac Vorsah and Auxerre's Moussa Narry were both temporarily suspended by the Serbian trainer national team for refusing to honour previous invitations have been recalled for the clash in Cairo.

Rajevac has also recalled three players and handed a debut call-up to Egypt-based defender William Mensah.

Gyan has struggled to shake-off the groin injury sustained at the last Nations Cup on home soil.

The 23-year-old recently won the battle for full fitness and has made appearances for his French Ligue 1 side Rennes.

He scored Ghana's first goal at the 2006 World Cup and but has been absent in recent assignements due to the various injury setbacks.

Gyan missed the previous phase of the joint 2010 Nations/World Cup and he is now ready to fight for a place.

Vorsah failed to join the team to South Africa for a friendly international against South Africa in September last year.

Narry,22, turned down an invitation for a joint 2010 Nations Cup/World Cup qualifier against Lesotho claiming he was told by an offficial that the money expended on his travel ticket will not be refunded.

Also making a return is KV Mechelen left-back Nana Akwesi Asare who was an unused substitute at the 2008 Nations Cup.

Mensah of Egyptian Premier League side Haras El-Hadoud is set for his first international cap.

The 27-year-old defender has recovered from an achilles injury that ruled him out of the last three league games.

The 11 February date at the Cairo International Stadium is expected to prepare both sides before the resumption of the 2010 Nations Cup/World Cup qualifiers in March.
