African Youth Championships defending champions Nigeria confirmed their continued participation in the 2013 tournament as well as a place at the 2013 World Youth Cup in Turkey after beating DR Congo 3-1 in the final Group B match.
Nigeria will thus travel to Temouchent to face Egypt in the first semifinal on Tuesday.
Mali finished as Group B winners despite losing 0-2 to Gabon, since the earlier 1-0 win over Nigeria gave them a superior head-to-head record.
Mali, who will join Nigeria, Egypt and Ghana in Turkey, will clash with Ghana’s Black Satellites in Oran on Tuesday night.
