35 invited to women U-19 soccer camp

Accra, Jan. 8, GNA - Thirty-five ladies selected at the end of the last national schools and colleges sports festivals have been invited to begin camping at the Volta Hall, University of Ghana Legon, to form the nucleus of the national women under-19 soccer squad.

A statement issued from the Ghana Football Association (GFA) secretariat on Thursday and signed by Mr Kofi Nsiah, General Secretary, asked the ladies to report at the offices of the FA on Sunday, January 11, at 1400 GMT to be conveyed to Legon.


It said their transportation expenses to the GFA premises would be refunded.


Those invited were Cecilia Fremah, Esther Foruah, Docas Adu and Leticia Zipki, all from the Ashanti region; Janet Tiwaa Priscilla Annor, Eunice Serwar and Vida Anveilleveil (Brong Ahafo).


Three were selected from the central region- Dorcas Otoo, Margaret Aidoo and Victoria Oteng. Also invited were Regina Yeboah, Lydia Addo, Gloria Bani (Eastern); Comfort Dunyo, Zenabu Musah, Edna Darkoah and Irene Ofori complete the list from the Greater Accra region.

Abdul-Momin Sakani, Fati Asuboro, Eunice Minta and Yusif Ayinawu were selected from the Northern region while Mercy Adu Boahene, Salifu Sadia and Mary Abilto were picked from the Upper East region. Also invited were two from the Volta region. They were Issifu Kpinbini and Bright Afordofe.


The rest were Nancy Coleman, Saminatu Sulemana, Francisca Koomson, Helena Mensah, Dinah Mensah, Sibina Mensah, Gifty Appiah and Agnes Kofie, all from the Western region.


The statement urged the Co-ordinator of the Physical Education programmes of the Ghana Education Service to get the message across to the various schools where the ladies have been selected.
