...Sudan pulls out of
Sudan have withdrawn from a four-nation tournament to be held in Ghana later this month.

The Nile Crocodiles were scheduled to lock horns with Ghana, Benin and the UAE from 17-21 November in preparation towards next year's African Cup of Nations.

But the Sudanese have withdrawn from the competition because they are unable to raise a team for the tournament in Accra.

Several members of the Nile Crocodiles play for Al Merreikh who will be engaged in the second-leg of the final of the Confederation Cup at the time of the tournament.

"We were greatly honoured to be invited by the Ghanaian authorities for the tournament," Sudan FA boss Kamal Shaddad said.

"But Al Merreikh have informed us that they are unable to release their players because of the second leg of the final of the Confederation Cup."

This is the second time a team is withdrawing from the tournament.

Sudan came in as a replacement for Guinea who withdrew after being drawn with Ghana in Group A of next year's Cup of Nations.

The Ghana Football Association is expected to name a country to replace Sudan.
