AFCON 2017: GNPC urges Black Stars to stay focus

The Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) has urged the Black Stars to keep their eyes on the prize in the ongoing African Cup of Nations Championship (AFCON).

A statement issued by the GNPC and copied to the Ghana News Agency said the Corporation was happy that once again the Black Stars of Ghana had made it to the line-up of Africa’s soccer in Gabon, to contest for the ultimate prize.

It said the Black Stars have since 2013 when GNPC became the headline sponsor, progressed at each AFCON adding: “In 2013, you came to the semi-finals, you became runners up in the last edition of the championship in 2015 and we hope you will be crowned winners this time round.”

The statement appealed to the players be committed to their training and other forms of preparations, and keep their eyes on the ultimate prize - to win the trophy at stake.

“We are confident that you are capable of becoming AFCON 2017 champions and therefore urge you to be united in focus for victory to crown your efforts."
