PORT-OF-SPAIN, Trinidad ? Former African Footballer of the Year Abedi Pele of Ghana, will attend a special CONCACAF Symposium starting Friday. He will discuss the talents and performance of African teams.
The two-day symposium, scheduled for Friday and Saturday at the Joao Havelange Center Of Excellence in Port of Spain, will highlight the technical features of the World Cup and the official FIFA Technical Report on the tournament.
Also listed to attend are the United States national team coach Bruce Arena and Costa Rican counterpart Alexandre Guimaraes. The two coaches, who guided their teams past the group stage at World Cup finals in South Korea and Japan, will be joined by Mexican World Cup team trainer Alberto Aguilar Mijes.
Trinidad coach Alvin Cornel, a former national cricketer and soccer player and also a member of the FIFA technical team and a FIFA instructor, will chair the symposium.
