Unless Kumasi Asante Kotoko has a last minute change of mind, two of its senior players, Godwin Ablordey and Nana Frimpong will be transferred to local rivals King Faisal as part of a deal involving the transfer of Faisal's Yusif Chibsah to Kotoko.

At a meeting held last Tuesday officials of Kotoko and Faisal haggled over the one billion cedi price tag placed over Chibsah by the vociferous Chairman of King Faisal, Alhaji Karim Grunsah and eventually settled on a monetary and swap agreement.

According to Grunsah who spoke to the Soccer Express yesterday the two parties agreed that for King Faisal to part with the Card A of its midfielder, Yusif Chibsah, Kotoko would pay an amount of 200 million and as well as the services of General Captain, Godwin Ablordey and veteran Nana Frimpong who is a former player of King Faisal.

According to the King Faisal boss the meeting that took place at the offices of King Faisal at Akwatia Line in Kumasi was cordial and also agreed on payment terms.

Asked if he did not demand something more than the two players and the cash amount, Grunsah said what was important was the fact that a deal had been sealed. "I do not need to expose the details of our negotiation. The outcome is what is important," he stated.

It was unclear at the time of going to press whether Kotoko was going ahead with the agreement as at least one IMC member had gone on air to state that the three-member delegation of George Ayisi-Boateng, Alhaji Tanko and Yaw Boafo had no mandate to conclude a deal until after consultations with the rest of the IMC. All three members of the negotiating team are members of the seven-member IMC.

But Grunsah insists that a deal was struck and that is the reason why they managed to conclude terms of payment. "I still have Chibsah's card so if there are doubts about the agreement the ball is in their (Kotoko) court. I will wait for them to make good the terms of the agreement before the Card A changes hands," he emphasised.

Grunsah raised eyebrows when he tagged Chibsah with a one billion cedis price tag recently and insisted that the player was worth every penny of the price tag.

Meanwhile Nana Frimpong who was recently scheduled to join Sunyani-based B.A. United on loan from Kotoko has been sighted at the King Faisal training grounds training with his former colleagues. It is unclear if Godwin Ablordey has been officially notified by the Kotoko management of their intended action, but the player who until recently was the captain of the club has been regular at Kotoko training.
