Ghana striker Frank Acheampong has admitted he needs to step up his game to end a regular spot in the Black Stars.
The 18-year-old made his senior debut for the West African giants during Wednesday’s international friendly against China.
The Thai-based player could have marked his debut with a goal after he saw his 30-yard pildriver hit the upright in the first half.
He had his moment of brilliance against the Asian giants and wants to be given more opportunities to build his confidence.
“It was not all that good but I think it a good start for me and if I continue like this and also improve on some ability, I think I will go places,” Acheampong said
“In the beginning I was bit jittery but after five minutes I said to myself we are all human beings and I started to play my normal game,”
“I thought my drive was going into the net, but I don’t know what happened. My players encouraged me to shoot and I shot from that range but it was unlucky for me,”
“It depends on the coach. I need more call-ups so that I can fix well in the team. Because I think if I continue playing I will get more confidence.”
