Adansiman appeal for financial support

Obuasi (Ashanti Region) -- Former premier division campaigners, Obuasi Adansiman F/C, have initiated move to raise adequate funds to support the club's quest to re-gain entry into the premiership.

Adansiman who went into soccer wilderness for several years, bounced back into the elite division last year but were relegated at the end of that season. "So far we have won the first three matches but our main problem is financial. And since we have to clear about 17 matches en-route to the premier division and against the background that all the matches are being played away from home, there is the need for us to look else where for funding", Kofi Barimah-Acheampong, the Club's Secretary told the GNA Sports in an interview.

According to him, the club needs money to mobilise and motivate players to give off their best. Barimah-Acheampong said they have appealed to all Adansis, both at home and abroad adding that the club is waiting for responses.

The secretary said the Adansi West District Assembly had been contacted and the District Chief Executive, Joe Boampong, had promised to assist the club. "We are praying that the promise is fulfilled immediately since this is the time we need money badly", he said, stressing that "our determination to qualify for the sub-middle, middle leagues and the premiership is solid".

On his part, Alhaji Ibrahim Tahiru (Boho), Chairman of the Club, commended Obuasi Goldfields Sporting Club for throwing their weight behind the club. He expressed his appreciation to the Adansiman supporters for travelling with the club in all the matches played so far and urged them to continue.

Alhaji Boho, however, advised the supporters to comport themselves during matches, even in the face of bias officiating so that matches involving Adansiman would be violence-free.
