Accra, Dec. 3, GNA - Herbert Addo, head coach of the local Black Stars has named a preliminary 32-man squad for the third phase of preparations towards Sudan 2011 African Nations Championship (CHAN).
The squad was reached after a two-week justify-your-inclusion exercise for 64 players in preparation for the tournament, designed exclusively for footballers playing in their domestic leagues in Africa. The squad, dominated by players within the elite division with three from lower division clubs, will be pruned to 21 after critical assessment and observation by the technical team.
New Edubiase striker Stephen Manu is the only member of the silver winning team at the maiden edition held in Cote d'Ivoire in 2009.

Hearts of Oak's Obed Ansah makes up the midfield machinery with Edwin Gyimah (Wa All Stars), Hans Cofie (Kessben), Yaw Alexander (Berekum Chelsea), Mohammed Basit (Berekum Chelsea), Ofosu Mickey (King Faisal), Ricky Mensah (Unistars Academy) and Larbi Koomson of B.A Stars.
