The Right to Dream Academy (RtD) in Ghana continue to churn out brilliant, skillful and intelligent players who are taking European football by storm with the latest being tall defender Bismark Adjei-Boateng. Founded in 1999 by former Manchester United scout for Africa, Tom Vernon, Right to Dream have a fully residential facility in Old Akrade offering 100% scholarship combining education and leadership training with sports.
A total of 15 RtD graduates are playing professional football in Europe, chief among them Abdul Majeed Waris and Michael Abu who have all played for the Ghana Black Stars. Waris of course currently leads the scorers chart in the Sweden top flight league whilst Abu is on the books of Manchester City, English Premier League champions. Now joining the fray with a bang is Adjei-Boateng who has not looked back since making his debut professional start for Norway side Stromsgodset in their 4-0 home win against Aalesund back on September 14. A full 90 minutes followed against Viking for the 18 year old who has senior compatriots (Black Stars goalkeeper) Adam Kwarasey and defender Razak Nuhu to look up to at Stromsgodset who are involved in a 3-way fight for the Norway title.
"Nana has worked very hard for this and deserves the opportunity he is now getting with the first team,” RtD Academy Football Business Manager Andrew Farrant said about Adjei-Baoteng who they simply call ‘Nana’ at the Academy.
Mr. Farrant continued: “He has applied himself well since joining the club in August, and it is a big achievement to be breaking into the first team at this important stage of the season when the club are pushing to win the league title in Norway. The game against Aalesund was a strong performance for his first start, and I hope he uses that as a base to build on for the rest of the season."
