Aduana Stars are fixated on the Ghana Premier League (FCPPL) crown, says club captain Emmanuel Akuoko.

Aduana won their maiden league title at first attempt under current Hearts of Oak coach Herbert Addo in 2009 and are showing their intentions after surviving relegation scare last season.

They lie third – same points as second placed WAFA but behind leaders AshantiGold who are four points apart with a total 29.

The long serving centre-back expects a tougher contest when the league restarts with the second round from May 17.

“The second round will be tougher than what we witnessed in the first because of many factors,” Akuoko asserts.

“Some will be fighting relegation whilst others will also be fighting to play in the top four. These and many more will make it very difficult in both home and away matches.”

“But we have our eyes still fixed on the trophy and we will look to close the gap on AshGold with some away wins during the second round.”

Aduana had the best home record in the first round – winning all seven games with 8 goals scored and one conceded but were not convincing in away games. The Fire club lost six but managed to gain four points from their eights away trips in the first half of the season.
