Three Ghanaians will be in action when Esperance Tunis take on Sudan's Al Merreikh in the return leg of Caf Champions League 1/8th final on Sunday.

Esperance lost the first leg 1-0 in Omdurman through Alaeddine Youssef’s spot kick and will be going all out to overturn the deficit at home in order to make it to the group phase.

Ghana right-back Harrison Afful is expected to play a key role for the Blood and Gold, who are aiming for a third title after winning the competition in 1994 and 2011.

Afful has appeared 21 times for Esperance this season, scoring two goals in the domestic league and one in the ongoing Caf Champions League.

El Merreikh, on the other hand, have Ghana Premier League 2013/2014 goal king and best player Augustine Okrah in their fold as well as Francis Coffie, whom they signed in 2014.

Both players have been in fine form for the club and are expected to help the Al-Zaeem return with a favourable outcome from their tough mission to Rades, near Tunis, where the meeting will take place.

It would be interesting to see how Afful, from the right back, would fare against Coffie, who should be operating on the left wing, as both men have been familiar with each other having played together at Kumasi Asante Kotoko seven years ago.

Esperance are unbeaten at home this season under Jose Morais and have accumulated 53 points which have helped the defending champions move to second in the CLP-1.

Al Merreikh are also second in the Sudanese top flight with 26 points just two points behind leaders Al Hilal Omdurman.
