Africa Origin Travel and Sports Tourism (AOT&ST) on Wednesday, asked the Presidential Commission of Inquiry investigating the participation of the Black Stars in Brasil 2014 World Cup, to compel the Ministry Youth and Sports (MOYS) to pay him $108,000 for the services rendered to them.
AOT&ST is one of the agencies hired by the Planning Committee of the Ghana Brasil 2014 World Cup Project by MOYS.
Samson Deen, Chief Executive Officer of AOT&ST told the commission that, the amount represents $400 profit margin on each of the 217 supporters allocated to him to be air-lifted to Brasil to support the Black Stars.
Deen made the demands when we appeared before the Commission on Wednesday.
According to the Deen, the demand follows series of inconsistencies on the part of the Planning Committee of MOYS on the Ghana Brasil 2014 Project.
Deen is also asking the commission to compel MOYS to pay him additional 59, 722.74 cedis being the cost of tickets for 217 fans at the unit cost of 275.22 cedis.
He added that, the Commission should also compel MOYS to pay for loss of profits due to delays in making the payments on agreed times, as well as loss of time and business and legal fees.
According to Deen, the difficulties, frustrations, stress, avoidable waste and near disgrace that characterised the organisation were largely self-inflicted and needless.
Deen said, the state must in future divest itself from such processes and professionally engage the services of travel and tours to manage the organisation.
He added that, the state should also consider establishing an outfit with sufficient professional consultation to coordinate and serve the supporters.
This he said, will ensure proper screening of supporters and accurately account for them to avoid national image damaging occurrences, which turned supporters to asylum seekers.
