Ghana midfielder, Afriyie Acquah impressed on his debut for Empoli as the Blues secured a 2-0 win against Cagliari at home Sunday night in their first match of the Serie A campaign.
The combative midfield powerhouse was named in the starting lineup despite having just one training session with the team he joined on transfer deadline day.
However, the 26-year-old adjusted well and made his wealth of Serie A experience count.
He bossed the right side of the midfield as goals from Rade Krunic and Francesco Caputo sealed the win.
Acquah has previously played for Palermo, Parma, Sampdoria and Torino in the Italian top-flight.
