Asante Kotoko striker Ahmed Toure, says he has a point to prove to the Hearts of Oak fans on Monday as both sides clash in the first leg of the 2014 Super 2 Competition.
According to him, though he wanted to play for the Phobians, Kotoko looked hungrier for his services, and managed to convince him enough to grab his signature, an action he stressed he hasn’t regretted.
But come Monday, the Ivorian striker aims to give the Phobian fans a taste of what they missed out on, adding that he hopes to score a goal in both legs.
“It's going to be a tension match and I can see from what the supporters are saying. Though it is a friendly match, what happened between myself and Hearts of Oak will take centre stage, but I believe it will be a good match to watch for both sets of fans”, Ahmed Toure told sportscrusader.com.
The striker who is still working his way into the Kotoko setup added that he doesn’t know whether he will start the game on Monday or not, but was optimistic that he will have a part to play, in order for Kotoko to win.
“The decision as always lies with the coaches, all I have to do is to train and make sure I get my fitness to where they expect it to be. if I start fine, but if not, I know I will come on during the course of the game to help Kotoko win the match, and who knows, I might score a goal to prove myself more”, the player added.
