Hearts of Oak coach CK Akunnor is full of thanks after undergoing a two-week coaching attachment with German club FC Nuremberg.

The former Ghana international who made his name while playing in the Bundesliga (well remembered for his days with Wolfsburg) was taken through modern coaching techniques with the full compliment of the side who are on pre-season.

Akunnor who is expected back in the country sometime this week after his 16-day stint with the Bavarian club claims enhanced knowledge of the modern trends of the game.

He however recognizes imparting it to his team back home posses another challenge.

“It was a very good experience and I am very grateful for this opportunity,” he told GHANAsoccernet.com from his German base.

“They already knew me and they did not sideline me but rather involved me in all activities, in their training and everything.

“I have learnt a lot here but of course the challenge will be how to apply the knowledge acquired here to my players when I return.

“Nevertheless, it is something I am looking forward to and hopefully things will go very well.”

Akunnor succeeded Serb Nebojsa Vucicevic at Hearts coach earlier this year.

He will be presiding over his first transfer activities aimed at powering the Phobians to league glory upon his return.
