Ghanaian midfielder Mubarak Wakaso has been on the radar of several European clubs after his impressive output for his country in the just ended African Cup of Nations in Egypt.
The former Villarreal player has recently been linked with a move to Europa league campaigners Getafe for the coming season after his exploit in Egypt.
But reacting on the issue on Tuesday, Deportivo Alaves Sporting Director Sergio Fernández has insisted the Black stars midfielder is an important part of the club despite the reports of interest from several European clubs.
“There is a lot of summer and season and Wakaso is a very important player for us, renewing his contract or without renewing his contract,”
The former Las Palmas midfielder joined his teammates for Pre -season on Monday after exhausting his extended break due to the AFCON.
