Accra, Feb 17, GNA - A 33-man contingent of the Algerian under-23 team are expected to arrive in the country on Wednesday, February 18, to play against Ghana's Black Meteors in an Olympic Game qualifying match. The Meteors will engage their Algerian counterparts at the Kumasi Sports Stadium on Sunday, February 22.
A source at the secretariat of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) told the GNA Sports that the contingent is expected to reach Accra by a chartered flight at 4:00 pm.
The contingent, according to the source is made of 20 players and 13 officials.
The contingent will be flown later to Kumasi by a local flight to enable them have some training sessions on the football pitch before the Sunday.
In a related development, the Benin match officials assigned for the match are also expected to arrive in the country on the same day. They are expected to arrive by road.
The officials, Aguidissou Crespin who will be in the middle of the action and would be supported by Aderojou Aboudou and Houdonougbo Boniface on lines one and two, with Topkeme Vivile as the fourth referee.
The Liberian match commissioner, Wesley Sambo Izzeta will arrive in Accra on Friday.
