Ghana defender Daniel Amartey was presented with Danish Superliga medal on Sunday as the season finally came to an end.

The 21-year-old played 15 matches for champions FC Copenhagen before being transferred to English champions Leicester City in January.

Amartey is entitled to a medal because of the number of the games he featured for the club.

FC Copenhagen beat AGF 2-1 on Sunday and early this month recorded the same scoreline against the same side to win the Danish Cup.

The ceremony forced him to delay his reporting to Ghana’s squad for the upcoming 2017 Africa Cup of Nations at Mauritius.

Amartey becomes the first Ghanaian to win two championship medals in one season after being decorated in England with Leicester.

His five appearances for the Foxes qualified him for a medal.
