... Contract Extension Until 2013
Reigning French champions Olympique Marseille have confirmed on their official website that young Ghana international Andre Ayew is on the verge of signing a contract extension until the summer of 2013.
The highly rated youngster's previous deal was due to expire in the summer of 2011. Ayew and Marseille have yet to agree on some minor details, but the attacker is expected to ink his new deal later this week.
The France-born Ayew joined Marseille from Nania in the summer of 2005, but he has failed to secure regular first team action with the Phoceens so far. The winger was farmed out on loan to Lorient and Arles in the past two seasons.
Ayew was one of the star performers for Ghana at the 2010 World Cup and the winger was continually being linked with a move away from L'OM since.
Clubs such as Bayern Munich and Stuttgart were believed to be ready to make a move for the 20-year-old, but they will now have to turn their attentions elsewhere.
