Black Stars’ skipper, Asamoah Gyan, virtually went on his knees to plead with some aggrieved football fans at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, Kumasi late Tuesday amidst booing.

Gyan abandoned his colleagues for a period and beckoned the Amakon stands as some supporters hooted at the team that began training ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier with Uganda at the Garden City on Saturday.

When the striker approached the unusually hostile crowed, he appealed, “Brethren, I would plead with you to exercise patience and restraint. I apologize for all that has happened in recent times and I plead with you to continue to rally solidly behind the team”.

The supporters that converged at the stadium in what appeared to be their usual bid to see their Stars turned hostile once the team disembarked from their bus to commence training.

After his appeal, a few applauds rang across the stands as Coach Kwasi Appiah, walked his side through their paces for about two hours.

Information pieced together by the GNA Sports indicates that the Black Stars would engage a local team in a friendly on Thursday.
