Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah will leave for Norway and Sweden on Tuesday to scout for players for the national team.

Appiah wants to assess more quality players for the Black Stars next competitive assignment in September for the final 2013 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.

Some players playing in the Scandinavian region have hogged the headlines in recent times including in-form striker Abdul Majeed Waris who plays for Swedish side BK Hacken.

The 20-year-old has scored 12 goals after 12 league matches.

Appiah will also interact with first choice goalkeeper Adam Larsen Kwarasey, Mohammed Abu and Razak Nuhu of Norwegian side Stromsgodset.

There are over a dozen of Ghanaian players in the top-flights and lower division sides from that part of Europe.

“There are a couple of Ghanaian stars I have been prompted to look at in Sweden and Norway,” Appiah is quoted by the Africa Sports newspaper.

“I intend using this opportunity to take a critical look at them and make an informed judgement.”

Appiah wants to bounce back to winning ways after suffering defeat in his last assignment, a 1-0 reverse to Zambia in the 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
