Appiah to visit key players

Ghana coach, Kwesi Appiah will visit some key players of the Black Stars as part of preparations towards the Brazil 2014 World Cup.

A source at the Ghana Football Association (GFA) told GNA Sports that Appiah will set sail on Thursday, December 19.

The tour will see him spend a maximum of two days with each player where he would also interact with the various managers of the respective players to back up his database.

The coach, first indigenous trainer to qualify the Black Stars to the Mundial is expected to spend a month visiting senior players like Michael Essien, Kwadwo Asamoah, Sulley Muntari and Kevin Prince Boateng.

He is also expected to visit young once including Christian Atsu, injured Andre Ayew, Rabiu Mohammed and John Boye who have just returned from the sidelines.

The tour, according to the source is likely to take Appiah to Liverpool and or Manchester City where he will be expected to interact with the technical heads of the two clubs for about 72 hours.

Ghana have been pitted alongside Germany, Portugal and the United States of America in Group G.

The Stars are making a third successive appearance at the World Cup where they remain Africa’s best performers in the last two editions in Germany 2006 and South Africa 2010.
