Arhinful slams Grant over coaching seminar

Former Ghana striker Augustine Arhinful claims Black Stars coach Avram Grant is trying to use coaching seminars as propaganda.

Grant, 60, was expected to convey seminars for local coaches as part of his official responsibility but has only held one of those meetings since his appointment in November 2014.

“What Grant did was propaganda,” Arhinful told Takoradi-based Radio 360.

“Football is a practical exercise and you cannot teach tactics and formation from only books and manuals. It is not done anywhere.

“I expected him to meet the coaches at the Accra Sports Stadium, assemble school kids and go through some practical exercise,” he added.

Grant, who won many hearts in Ghana after leading the Black Stars to win silver at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations, is currently being criticised by local fans and pundits for not adequately monitoring the domestic league.
