Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan has confirmed he will play for Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko before he retires from football.
The 28-year-old is gearing towards the twilight of his career but is still able to compete at the highest level.
Gyan now plays his club football in the UAE with Al Ain where he has emerged the top scorer of the domestic league for the past three seasons.
He has also just been named the Best Foreign Player in Asia by the AFC.
The Black Stars captain however says he will play for his boyhood club Asante Kotoko before he quits football despite having played for Liberty Professionals.
“I still follow Liberty, but I am a strong Kotoko fan,” he said.
“I have always been a Kotoko fan and I will play for them before I retire.”
Asamoah will be following in the footsteps of his elder brother Baffour who also played for Kotoko at the depth of his professional career.
