Asamoah Gyan out of CAN08

Ghana's striker Asamoah Gyan could miss the remainder of the African Cup of Nations due to injury.

The attacker will not feature when Black Stars face Cameroon in the semi-finals on Thursday, and he could miss the final or the game for the third place as well.

The Udinese star has been carrying a groin injury for three months and the problem has resurfaced

''I got the injury when the National U-23 side beat the Amagluglug of South Africa for the Beijing Olympic game qualifiers at the El-Wak Sports Stadium some three months ago,? he explained to Ghanasocernet.

?I have not recovered fully and have been suffering since. I was not even sure I could kick a ball against Nigeria and really shocked I could play till the end of the first half.
