Tanzanian giants, Yanga, have finally decided to officially release Ghanaian striker, Kenneth Asamoah, after the latter had served the club for two seasons.
Reports from Super Sport website revealed on Saturday that Asamoah has reached an agreement with Yanga on his release, and Yanga will pay compensation for terminating Asamoah's contract which he signed last season.
The 24-year joined Yanga from Serbian side, FK Jagodina, in 2010, and he scored a memorable winner against Simba in 2011 CECAFA Kagame Cup final.
Asamoah won the 2010/11 Mainland Premier League title with Yanga, and finished last season with ten goals as his side settled for the third position behind champions, Simba, and runners-up, Azam FC. The Ghanaian departure has given Yanga opportunity to rope in new players to bolster the striking force, in which striker, Said Bahanuzi, has been recruited from another Mainland Premier League side, Morogoro's Mtibwa Sugar.
Yanga has also retained local lad, Jerryson Tegete, and Ugandan, Hamisi Kiiza, with the latter having enjoyed plenty of first team action last season. The Jangwani Street side is also said to be eyeing Rwanda international, Meddy Kagere, who also plays for Rwanda's Police FC.
Yanga Information Officer, Louis Sendeu, however, declined to have information on the termination of Asamoah's contract, saying the players' registration exercise is under the club's player registration committee.
