Ex-Medeama striker Nathaniel Asamoah has congratulated Kofi Owusu for winning the goal king title this season.
Owusu, who plays for Berekum Chelsea scooped the individual award by scoring a sensational brace on the final day of the season to take his tally to 19, one more than Asamoah’s 18.
But that feat was particularly helped greatly by the absence of Asamoah, who left to join Moroccan giants Raja Casablanca in midstream.
In a show of massive maturity, the former Kotoko attacker has heaped praise on the newly-crowned goal king despite his disparaging comments about him.
“I want to congratulate Kofi Owusu. He deserves all the plaudits,” he told GHANAsoccernet.com
“He worked hard for it and I’m very happy for him. Hopefully he can sustain the momentum going forward.
“I want to take this opportunity to wish him well.”
Owusu questioned the goal-scoring prowess of his main challenger during a heated season but Asamoah seems to have overlooked the criticism with a heart-warming plaudits for the Berekum Chelsea attacker.
