Ghana winger Solomon Asante is staying at Phoenix Rising Stars despite interest from various MLS clubs.
Asante, 28, was voted as Rising Phoenix Stars player of the year, best foreign player of the year and also won the best goal award in the end of season awards night.
The diminutive winger who netted thirteen league goals for Phoenix was on the radar of Colorado Rapids, Houston Dynamo and FC Dallas for the coming season.
However, Phoenix have come out that Asante will spend the coming 2019 USL season with them.
“He scored and created goals in bunches. And now, he’s back for 2019. Welcome back @Asante208! #UpRising.” the club twitted officially.
Asante who was assistant to Didier Drogba will be confirmed as the main captain of the side following the retirement of the Ivorian.
