The management of Ashgold in consultation with the technical handlers of the club have transfer-listed left footed Asare Boateng, Liberian import Tony Laffor and Awudu Zakari popularly known as "Terry Bonchaka".
The head coach of Ashgold Hans Van Der Pluym in an interview with Ashgold in Focus hinted that the players do not have the right mentality to play for a club like Ashgold. He said as the head coach of the club, he has a duty to work with players who are mentally tough and physically strong to prosecute the cause of the club.
When Tony Laffor was contacted, he said he would speak to his manager in Liberia and decide on the way forward. He said, "the coach has the sole prerogative to choose the type of players he wants to work with and is also answerable for the team's performance if it goes the opposite. I will not play for any club in Ghana. I will go back to my country Liberia and start again but I think the future looks bright for me." Tony Laffor also rendered his profuse appreciation to all who made his stay at Obuasi a memorable one. Meanwhile management, supporters and the entire staff of Ashgold are wishing the players well in their future endeavours.
The team has visited a number of shafts including Bidieso Shaft, Gausu Shaft, Estate/Kokotesua Shaft, Central Shaft, Kwabrafoso Shaft and Tutuka Shaft. The visitation has made it possible for several speculations and rumours circulating within the club to be addressed by the team. The management of Ashgold has reiterated its intention to visit other Supporters' Associations within and outside Obuasi to preach the truth and plans of the club towards the coming premier league competition.
