AshGold coach swerves question on benching Dauda

AshantiGold coach Bashiru Hayford refused to explain why he dropped Fatau Dauda to the bench in Sunday’s 1-0 win over MO Bejaia in the CAF Champions League qualifier.

Hayford decided to start Robert Dabuo ahead of the Black Stars second choice at the Len Clay Stadium.

Dauda was between the sticks during last week’s Super Cup defeat to Medeama at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Asked why the experienced gloves man was left out of the starting line-up, Hayford replied: "He wasn't dropped. Nobody dropped Fatau."

AshantiGold will be in Bejaia in a fortnight for the return leg on 28 February.
