Ashgold’s leading goal scorer in the Ghana Premier League Yakubu Mohammed is on the brink of joining Moroccan side, Raja Cassablanca.
The North African giants are in advanced negotiations with the strongly built center forward in a bid to secure a permanent deal for the Ghanaian international.
Yakubu Mohammed played an instrumental role for Bashiru Hayford’s Ashgold side that looks bound to end a 2-decade wait for domestic glory.
Information reaching by Sportscrusader.com have it that, the two parties are at advance stages on the negotiation table as they look to reach an agreement. The free agent left the shores of the country earlier in the week to put final touches to the proposed deal from the North African giants.
The 25 year old’s impressive 11 league strikes have propelled Ashgold to within touching distance of league glory.
Speaking exclusively to Sportscrusader.com on the deal, Ashgold’s communication director said, “Yakubu has left us for Morocco and he is currently negotiating as a free agent. He is with Raja negotiating for the details but as a club we cannot discuss any details since he is a free agent. If the deal goes as planned, then we might have to play our last two matches without the services of the striker.
“Aside Yakubu, Bernard Morrison is also in Congo with AS Vita. They brought us a deal but the details are not sorted out just yet. They promised to treat his injured foot before signing him”
Ashgold held Berekum Chelsea to a 2-2 drawn game in Sunyani to all but secure the domestic league championship despite their traditional poor second half performances in the league.
