Ashgold send goodwill message to four clubs

Obuasi, March 14, GNA - The Management of Ashanti Gold Sporting Club have expressed their unflinching support and extended its best wishes to the country's four Clubs participating in the CAF Champions League and Confederations Cup matches over the weekend. A goodwill message signed by Mr Kudjoe Fianoo, Chief Executive Officer of the Club said "being your proud host, we have a lot at stake in your respective campaign and therefore wish to assure you of our unflinching support and prayers". The four clubs would plunge into action this weekend with Accra Hearts of Oak trekking to Ethiopia as guest of St George, Kumasi Asante Kotoko would be the hosted by Mozambican Champions Ferroviario at the second stage of the MTN CAF Champions League.

The four clubs would plunge into action this weekend with Accra Hearts of Oak trekking to Ethiopia as guest of St George, Kumasi Asante Kotoko would be the hosted by Mozambican Champions Ferroviario at the second stage of the MTN CAF Champions League. Confederations Cup debutants, Berekum Arsenal lock horns with Diables Niors from the Democratic Republic of Congo whilst King Faisal play against AS Bamako in Mali. The Obuasi Len Clay Stadium serves as the venue for the home matches of the four Clubs and are thus billed to alternate its use during their campaign. Mr Fianoo was buoyant about the chances of the teams insisting "we strongly believe that you will clear the first hurdles to ensure the return encounters are mere formalities". Hearts, Kotoko and Faisal opted for the Len Clay Stadium after the closure of Ohene Djan and Baba Yara Stadias in Accra and Kumasi currently under renovation for the hosting of the CAN 2008 Africa Cup of Nations.
