Ghana winger Christian Atsu is expected to complete his move to Spanish side Levante in the coming hours after his English side Chelsea asked him to consider a loan move away from the Blues.

Atsu has been heavily linked with a loan move to La Liga side Levante, since he returned from his loan spell at Bournemouth.

A couple of days ago, Marca claimed Levante have already agreed personal terms with Atsu, and were just waiting for Chelsea's approval.

Spain's biggest sports newspaper Marca also suggested Chelsea had tabled a bid for Leicester City star Riyad Mahrez offering Christian Atsu and cash in exchange, and that Levante were getting impatient with Chelsea's plan to use Atsu as a bait to sign other players.

Levante threatened to withdraw their bid for Atsu if they didn't get a response from Chelsea soon, and it seems that has worked for them.

According to Marca, Guus Hiddink has given his approval to let Atsu join Chelsea, and the transfer could be completed in the coming hours.

Marca believe it's set to be made official today, and that claim will obviously be test pretty quickly.

Earlier, there were suggestions Guus Hiddink has been impressed by Atsu in training, and may give him a chance at Chelsea, but it now looks like he's set for another loan spell.
