Former Ghana international Godwin Attram says Kwesi Appiah caused his own dismissal as Black Stars coach because of his poor tactical decisions.

The 54-year-old was handed his letter of termination on September 17 in which no reason was given for his dismissal.

Appiah sacking happened within 24 hours of leading the Black Stars to a topsy-turvy 3-2 win over Togo in Lome in the 2014 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.

Many pundits questioned the timing for his removal but Attram was a seal to his own destruction.

“I think we could have won the game against Uganda but for some of the decisions of the coach,” the former PSV Eindhoven striker told Accra-based Asempa FM

“We kept crossing the balls and the Uganda goalkeeper took those easy to emerge man of the match I felt Kwesi Appiah could have twisted things.

“In modern day football the coach plays 80%, the coach has to have authority and teach almost everything.

“Everybody was blaming Jordan for not passing the ball to Gyan against Germany but nobody is seeing that the coach should have shown him that, Jordan is a good player but he needs a coach to do some few corrections on him.”
