Ghana coach Avram Grant has blamed the poor playing surface in Accra as the chief reason for the numerous injuries suffered by his players during a recent Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.
The former Chelsea coach was forced to substitute three of his key men - Mubarak Wakaso, Frank Acheampong, and John Boye during Ghana's 3-1 win over Mozambique last week.
The trio picked up knocks and the 60-year-old has blamed the poor pitch at the Accra stadium for their woes.
“The bad pitch caused the injuries to the players. Again, we have no physical trainer which is a big source of worry," he said
“The players always do their best despite this hindrances and I am proud of them."
