Ghana international Andre Ayew has been named best African player in the French Ligue 1 by weekly magazine France Football.

The list, which came out on Tuesday, saw the 25-year-old Marseille striker beating off competition from Africa Cup of Nations winner, Ivorian Max Alain Gradel of Saint Etienne, Wahbi Khazrib of Tunisia and Thomas Nkoulou of Cameroon among others.

Andre's brother Jordan is ranked 4th while Senegalese Lamine Sane of Bordeaux emerged 5th.
